Jiang Chen quickly approached, a gentle smile on his face as he looked at the four girls, noticing that the other two had quite pleasant dispositions as well.
“Brother, these two are my and Shasha's roommates, Xu Xin and Chen Wenjing,” Jiang Lu introduced him.
“Brother Jiang…” Xu Xin called out sweetly to Jiang Chen. She appeared to be a carefree, fashionable, and vibrant girl.
“Hello,” Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
“Brother Jiang…” Chen Wenjing said shyly. Despite her family's modest means, she dressed elegantly and exuded a sense of maturity and composure.
“You're both lovely,” Jiang Chen responded warmly.
“Brother Jiang, you're really handsome!” Xu Xin exclaimed, gazing at him with a cheerful grin.
“You're beautiful too, and quite graceful,” Jiang Chen said, glancing at Chen Wenjing.
Chen Wenjing blushed slightly and quickly explained, “That's all thanks to Xiao Lu; she taught me how to do my makeup. I used to dress so poorly!”
“Wenjing, you already have a good foundation; with just a little effort, you could be a real beauty. Brother, you might not know this, but there are quite a few boys pursuing her,” Jiang Lu joked.
“Really? So does Wenjing have a boyfriend?” Jiang Chen asked playfully. Anyone familiar with him would be surprised by this curious side of the usually aloof Mr. Jiang.
Today, Jiang Chen was just an ordinary neighborly brother accompanying Jiang Lu and Qin Xusha; there was no need for the Mr. Jiang persona in front of these charming girls.
“Not yet, but there are some nice guys; I feel sorry for her,” Jiang Lu laughed.
“Xiao Lu, I don’t want to date; I just want to focus on my studies and think about relationships after I graduate from graduate school,” Chen Wenjing said hastily.
“That’s fine too,” Jiang Chen nodded with a smile. It was commendable for a girl like Chen Wenjing, who came from a humble background and managed to get into Capital City University, to prioritize her studies. While college romance could be enchanting, it wasn't essential. For her, excelling academically and improving her family's circumstances was likely her greatest aspiration.
“What about you, Xu Xin?” Jiang Chen asked. He didn’t need to inquire about Qin Xusha; if she had a boyfriend, Jiang Lu would have mentioned it already.
“I’m not dating either,” Xu Xin replied mischievously, hesitating slightly.
“You are dating but trying to fool Brother Jiang,” Chen Wenjing and Jiang Lu immediately called out her bluff.
“I’m just in a temporary relationship with Wang Xiao; we haven’t really defined it yet,” Xu Xin said earnestly, maintaining her composure.
“Last time someone was completely smitten by Wang Xiao and jumped into his arms saying ‘I’m willing,’ if that person doesn’t admit it, I have video evidence,” Jiang Lu pretended to be serious as she teased.
“Xiao Lu, can’t you give me some face? Saying that in front of your brother is so embarrassing!” Xu Xin protested, her cheeks flushing despite her usual boldness.
Qin Xusha and Chen Wenjing stifled their laughter nearby; Xu Xin was the life of the dormitory with her carefree and outspoken nature that made her both endearing and exasperating.
