A Fei smiled and stopped talking, then asked me, "By the way, how well are Kobe and Zhou Wenming integrating with the team?" "Well, it's not bad, but we still need to be more in sync. After I got fouled out this time, Kobe took over my position as point guard, and Zhou Wenming's screens were great," I replied. There was a hint of comfort in A Fei's eyes as he continued to ponder. After leaving the hospital, I walked down the street with my backpack and pushed my bike. On Sunday, we would face Domain Sea at home again. We had only won by one point in the away game, so theoretically, we were still at high risk of being overturned. I planned to get a good night's sleep and relieve some stress. On Saturday, we needed to practice extra hours. As I arrived at the school gate, I saw Pang Hao. Huh? Why wasn't Shuai Dong with him? It couldn't be that he was sulking at home because of me. "Good morning, Jie! Come on, you guys are going to be late! I'm here to watch your training," Pang Hao said as he came over and put his arm around my shoulder. Unable to contain my curiosity, I finally asked him, "Pang Hao, why isn't Shuai Dong here with you today?" 0

"Well... he has something going on today and can't come out to play. I'm here instead; I'm representing him," Pang Hao said evasively. I sensed that he was brushing me off. I tightened my arm around his neck and pressed him for the truth: "Come on, spill it! What's really going on?" Under my questioning, Pang Hao stammered out the truth: "Uh... Shuai Dong had a bit to drink and got into a fight. He’s not seriously hurt, but his cheek is a bit bruised, and he doesn’t want to see anyone..." 0

"What! Who hit him? How dare they touch my brother! Tell me now!" My blood pressure shot up after hearing this. Pang Hao tried to calm me down: "Wait a minute; don’t get too worked up. It’s not entirely their fault; Shuai Dong threw up on one of them and didn’t apologize, so he got hit." 0

"Who the hell drinks and doesn't throw up? So what if he threw up on someone’s shoe? Just clean it off when he gets home; what's wrong with that!" My rationality was overtaken by anger. Bullying Shuai Dong was like bullying me, Xiang Jie. Just thinking about how hurt Shuai Dong must be made me furious. 0

After arriving at the gym, I kept pressing Pang Hao about who had hit Shuai Dong. He didn’t know either; by the time he found out, Shuai Dong had already applied some ointment. This situation weighed heavily on my heart like a stone. During training, I held back my frustration and managed to dunk six or seven times in a row. The observant Kobe noticed something was off with me after practice ended and asked as we left the gym: "Jie, is something bothering you today? You seem off." I thought it wouldn’t hurt to share with Kobe, so I told him everything that happened. Kobe chuckled: "Jie, come on now; you're our captain! How can you still act like a child? You’re older than us by birthday; fighting out of spite is something only kids do." His words made me feel embarrassed. I decided to go check on Shuai Dong; I wondered if he would still be sulking and ignoring me after all this time. How could he hold a grudge for so long against someone who had been his brother for such a long time? 0

After leaving school, I went straight to Shuai Dong's house. Pang Hao wanted to come along but I insisted on going alone to confront him. When I knocked on Shuai Dong's door, Aunt Shi greeted me with a smile: "Oh, Jie is here! Come in quickly! Dong, hurry up and come out; Jie is here to see you!" Aunt Shi called towards Shuai Dong's room. He opened the door with a smile: "Hey! Look who decided to come visit me! Come on in; let’s play some chess!" He pulled me into his room and shut the door behind us. I was taken aback by his unusual enthusiasm—what did this mean? Once the door closed, however, Shuai Dong's smile dropped immediately as he picked up a bottle of Sprite from beside his bed and tossed it to me: "Drink up; choke on it!" After opening the bottle and taking a sip, I exclaimed: "Ah! This tastes great! So... did you really get beaten up? Is it true?" 0

Shuai Dong lazily sat on his bed: "Are you here just to laugh at me? Yes, I got beat up; what about it?!" 0

"Well then... you guessed right; I'm indeed here to laugh at you." I stood up for another sip of Sprite before looking into Shuai Dong's eyes and continuing: "But... now that I've laughed enough, it's time for you to tell me who hit you." 0

"What do you want?" Shuai Dong asked. I tried to act nonchalant as I sat down and replied with two words: "Get revenge!" 0

Shuai Dong looked surprised at first but then laughed: "You think you're going to do something? You’ll just end up getting beaten yourself." I knew he didn’t want me involved in this matter but how could I ignore it when my brother had been hurt? "Come on! Who is it? Of course, if you want to be a coward then I won’t ask anymore." I prepared to use some reverse psychology on him. Hearing this seemed to trigger him: "Coward? Ha! It was those two from Changqing Middle School—Dewey and Pu Dalong at the corner of Wanwen Street!" 0

Upon hearing this, I turned around and left the room immediately before calling Situ Jianfei. Those two were known troublemakers from Changqing School; I needed some backup. 0

Before long, Situ Jianfei arrived with Zhao Bin. Zhao Bin really didn’t look like a nobleman at all; fighting was always part of his routine. As soon as Situ Jianfei saw me, he asked: "Who are we dealing with? I've been looking for an opportunity to fight; I've got a lot of pent-up frustration." After giving him a brief rundown of the situation, Situ Jianfei and Zhao Bin both laughed: "Just those two? Forget it; leave this one to us." Situ Jianfei turned around ready to leave but then paused after taking a few steps back towards me: "Remember not to get involved in this; understand?" His tone was clearly commanding. Since he told me not to get involved, I'd better listen—Shuai Dong didn’t even think of asking Situ Jianfei for help; how foolish could he be? Maybe he was afraid of owing Situ Jianfei a favor or something; who knows what that laugh from Situ Jianfei meant—did he know those two troublemakers? But even if he did know them, it wouldn’t be surprising since Situ Jianfei was also... a troublemaker himself. 0
