The next morning, the three of us set off for the bank. Along the way, Zhang Hao and Lin Mengyi excitedly discussed what supplies to buy.
"I think we should get more canned food and dry rations," Lin Mengyi suggested. "And bottled water—lots of it."
"Don't forget medical supplies," Zhang Hao added seriously. "Especially antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs; those are lifesavers in the apocalypse."
I followed behind them, listening as they freely planned how to spend my money, a cold smile tugging at the corners of my mouth.
At the bank, a long line had already formed. Just as we were about to join the end of the queue, a burly man suddenly pushed his way into the middle of it.
"Hey, you can't cut in line!" someone in front complained.
"What’s it to you?" the man glared back. "I’m in a hurry!"
Zhang Hao instinctively took a step back, while Lin Mengyi tugged at my sleeve. "Let it go; waiting a bit longer won’t hurt."
I gently shook off her hand and stepped forward.
"Queue up," I said, fixing my icy gaze on the man.
He turned around, ready to lash out, but froze when our eyes met. I released a hint of my psychic pressure, watching as his pupils slightly constricted and his face paled.
"I... I just remembered I have something else to do," he stammered before hurriedly fleeing.
Zhang Hao and Lin Mengyi stared at me in shock, surprise and jealousy flickering in their eyes.
"Su Qing, when did you become so powerful?"
Lin Mengyi tentatively asked.
I smiled lightly, "I'm not sure either; it seems that this is how it is after awakening my abilities."
Upon entering the bank, I withdrew five hundred thousand.
Zhang Hao and Lin Mengyi were somewhat disappointed, but they didn't say much. After all, in their eyes, I was still the easy-to-manage Su Qing.
Zhang Hao drove us to an abandoned industrial park on the outskirts of the city.
Along the way, he and Lin Mengyi kept talking about how dangerous it would be outside when the apocalypse came, emphasizing the need to stock up on supplies.
The car stopped in front of a dilapidated factory building.
The iron gate was rusty, surrounded by overgrown weeds, and a few stray dogs rummaged through the trash in the distance.
This environment certainly didn't look like a proper warehouse.
"We're here; this is the place."
Zhang Hao pushed open the rusty iron gate, which creaked loudly.
A balding middle-aged man came out to greet us, his round face and small eyes squinting as he said, "You must be Miss Su? My surname is Wang."
I nodded and followed them into the warehouse.
The air was thick with a musty smell, and various supplies were piled on the shelves, but the packaging looked very worn.
"These are the last good items we have," Old Wang pointed at the shelves. "Prices are skyrocketing now; they might go up tomorrow."
I picked up a can of food and examined it closely; the production date had expired two years ago.
Looking at other items, they were either of poor quality or expired.
"These supplies will cost you one million in total," Old Wang extended five fingers. "I've already given you a discount."
"What? That's way too expensive!"
I was shocked.
“Qing Qing, what good is money in the apocalypse?” Lin Mengyi immediately advised, “If you lose your life, what’s the point of having money?”
Zhang Hao chimed in, “Yeah, while you can still buy it, any amount is worth it.”
I bit my lip, showing a conflicted expression. “But... I don’t have that much cash.”
“Then just buy half, 500,000 worth.”
Old Wang looked as if he was considering my situation. “But there’s an additional 50,000 for transportation; we’ll deliver it for you.”
I fell silent for a moment, then suddenly thought of something. “Oh right, I have a small warehouse in the suburbs that my dad left behind. How about we deliver it there? It’s empty anyway.”
“No problem.”
Zhang Hao and Lin Mengyi exchanged glances; with so many people around, we couldn’t let anyone know about my spatial abilities.
I took out my phone and opened the location to show Old Wang. “It’s this place.”
