The opposing Power Forward stood in front of me with his hand up to block; I cleverly used a bridge move to score over him—good luck trying to stop my attack next time.
After receiving the ball, the opposing Point Guard brought it up past the three-point line and passed it to the Shooting Guard, who then directly fed it to the Power Forward. The Power Forward dunked over Tu Lei with authority and shouted loudly afterward as if to challenge me. It seems this guy has some skills; his experience far exceeds that of Tu Lei and Li Kanglin—he's not just a big guy—but unfortunately, we aren’t matched against each other; otherwise, I would have loved to compete with him.
In this match, Domain Sea came out strong and gave us a wake-up call right from the start. At one point in the first quarter, they led us by ten points. However, we managed to rally back in the last three minutes and ended the first quarter trailing by just nine points. Starting from the Second Quarter, we gradually found our rhythm again combined with cheers from our fans; by halftime we had turned the score around to lead 54-48. We entered the Locker Room with a four-point advantage.
"Team members, we played with great rhythm this time; I'm glad everyone didn't lose their composure despite falling behind initially..." Teacher Qiu praised us. Kobe and Ouyang played about one quarter each; their different styles provided varied scoring methods for our team. We had already won half of the game; one foot was already in the semifinals—no unexpected situations could occur in the second half nor could there be any slumps leading to a comeback from them; this isn’t just a suggestion—it’s a necessity!
In the third quarter after halftime, we tightened our defense and only allowed our opponents to score thirteen points in that period. Although we only scored eighteen points ourselves, it was enough to maintain our lead. Moreover, their mentality began to shift as they made frequent mistakes: 70-61—we entered the final quarter with a nine-point advantage. At the start of the fourth quarter, they launched a frantic counterattack; they were willing to commit fouls just to force plays inside. Although they closed in within four points, they paid dearly for it as two players fouled out after six fouls each.
With just over three minutes left in the game, we still led 86-80 when their Point Guard passed directly to their Shooting Guard for a three-pointer that bounced off the rim! The opposing Power Forward grabbed the rebound and passed it back out to their Shooting Guard again who attempted another shot but missed! This time Li Kanglin and Tu Lei fought for the rebound together while their Power Forward and Center leaped simultaneously—four big guys crowded under the basket! The ball was once again snatched by that Power Forward who passed it out for another shot! The Shooting Guard caught it and shot again! Finally scored! Their style of play is incredibly dangerous.
With twenty seconds left in the game, we led 97-87 by a significant margin now; Teacher Qiu substituted all four of us Kings out for Liu Xiao and other first substitutes. I began celebrating with my teammates on the bench alongside those in the stands—the cheers echoed throughout! I've been part of Team for three years now; we've reached the top four every time! Currently on Team's strength ranking list we're closing in on former champions Experiment Three's score! Plus we’ve already defeated Experiment Three twice during group matches to advance—if Experiment Three stops at eighth place while we make it to finals then we might equal or even surpass them ranking second overall! And if Hejiang also stops at eighth while we win championship then we'll take over their top position directly becoming kings of basketball among high school teams citywide! Hejiang High School and Experiment Three happen to meet in Quarterfinals so one of them will definitely stop at top four meaning we can at least surpass one of them—I can’t wait for that feeling; I love this kind of dominating confidence!
