Jiang Chen took down a painting in the tea room and hung up the picture of the mountain temple. Since Jiang Chen had already "communicated" with Ling Mingzi, Zeng Xianyi and Qin Xiaoya could gaze at the artwork without any adverse effects. 0

Qin Xiaoya was unaware of the significance of the mountain temple painting, but she understood that it must be something extraordinary. The first to enter was Zeng Xianyi's eldest grandson. He stared at the painting and immediately fell into a daze, his consciousness being pulled into the artwork. After about ten seconds, he suddenly jolted awake, looking at Zeng Xianyi with confusion and surprise. Zeng Xianyi, however, was gazing intently at the painting, and seeing no unusual phenomena, he felt a twinge of disappointment. 0

"Alright, you can go out now," Zeng Xianyi said calmly. 0

"Um, Grandpa, does that mean I wasn't chosen?" Zeng Xianyi's eldest grandson asked cautiously. 0

"The painting showed no reaction at all; naturally, you weren't chosen," Zeng Xianyi replied. 0

"Then I'll head out first," Zeng Xianyi's eldest grandson said, clearly relieved. He had a seven-year-old child, a young and beautiful wife, and a successful career; he had no desire to become a priest. Not being chosen suited him just fine. 0

Jiang Chen watched from the side, smiling silently. 0

Ling Mingzi's "interviews" proceeded quickly, and soon only one person remained. Zeng Xianyi frowned as he noticed that the painting still showed no signs of activity. Ling Mingzi was someone who could hide within the painting and had earned Jiang Chen's admiration; he was undoubtedly a powerful being, half-human and half-divine. The inheritance from such a figure could drive countless people mad with desire. 0

Everyone hoped to be the first to benefit from this opportunity. Zeng Xianyi was not a saint and naturally had his own selfish motives. If none of his grandchildren were chosen by Ling Mingzi, he would consider asking Jiang Chen for help to speak favorably on their behalf. 0

"Let Wenwen come in," Zeng Xianyi instructed. 0

Zeng Wenwen entered hesitantly. The previous siblings had not been chosen, and an ominous feeling began to rise in her heart. 0

"Wenwen, what are you doing?" Zeng Xianyi said sternly as he noticed his granddaughter's nervousness. 0

Only then did Zeng Wenwen regain her composure. With curiosity mixed with apprehension, she looked at the mountain temple painting. 0

It was just an ordinary landscape painting; nothing remarkable about it, she thought to herself. But soon after, she felt a wave of dizziness wash over her, and suddenly found herself standing at the entrance of a mountain temple. 0

"Roar!" 0

Suddenly, the Bixi Divine Beast that carried the stone tablet seemed to come alive and let out a loud roar directed at Zeng Wenwen. She felt as if she were floating; her entire body stretched and diluted like a ghost, lifted into the air. Then, as if jolted by electricity, she returned to her senses—before her was still that unremarkable landscape painting. The earlier scene felt like a dream; however, it was far too vivid to be just a dream. 0

Zeng Xianyi observed as his last granddaughter finished her "interview," yet the mountain temple painting remained undisturbed with no hints or signs. 0

"Grandpa, did I pass?" Zeng Wenwen asked nervously. 0

"No," Zeng Xianyi sighed. 0

"Then I'll go out first." A smile appeared on Zeng Wenwen's face as if she had been granted amnesty. 0

In the tea room, a moment of silence fell. Jiang Chen took a sip of tea and smiled slightly, saying, "Zeng Lao, it seems your grandchildren have little interest in Ling Mingzi's teachings." 0
