In the Lava Sea, all Demon Beasts possess the Fire Attribute. Once they reach a certain level of growth, they awaken attack skills related to the Fire Principle. However, Demon Beasts do not cultivate divine powers, and this particular creature's attacks were clearly more ferocious than those of the Fire Principle. Reflecting on the events, it seemed incomprehensible to him.
"Once I regain my memories, I must find out where my ancestors are buried; it feels like their graves are emitting green smoke this time," he sighed softly. Despite suffering a bitter victory, it was still a victory, and most importantly, he was alive while that creature was dead. At the end of the battle, Mo Wen realized he had entered the creature's belly. Inside, there was a mass resembling blood crystal, but he hadn’t had time to study it closely before he hurriedly exited. He noticed that with the creature's death, the essence of fire and its pure divine power were rapidly dissipating from the opening, vanishing without a trace.
He quickly set up a sealing Magic Circle at the entrance. Due to his severe injuries, Mo Wen fainted within the Magic Circle. Although the Fire Principle's attacks were not as powerful as divine attacks, their sheer number inflicted significant damage both externally and internally. The most intense damage came from divine attacks; initially, he could manage with the "Locking Divine Technique" passed down by Old Qilin, but as the attacks increased in frequency, even that technique began to fail, ultimately harming his Divine Sea as well. After several hours of unconsciousness, he finally woke up just in time to hear Xiao Hei’s last words: "What should I do?"
"Ah, this Little Guy... quite good!" He paused for a moment, unsure how to express himself; it seemed that "quite good" encapsulated everything. Sometimes, the simplest words summarize true feelings best. Although Xiao Hei's grasp of human language was somewhat difficult for him to accept, it was clear that Little Guy must have been very sad thinking he was dead.
After two hours of recuperation, Mo Wen felt much better; at least he could move now. He left the Magic Circle and returned to the surface to retrieve his boat before re-entering the Magic Circle. It was safe here for the time being; in his current state, he had no strength left for battle and would be better off staying put. Even if Demon Beasts approached, he could wait for them in comfort. Of course, the main reason was that he hadn’t collected his spoils yet.
"Boss, you’re back!" Upon seeing Mo Wen enter, Xiao Hei rushed over. The boss had been injured outside and was recuperating; although he had come inside, he hadn’t absorbed any of the fire essence as instructed.
"Why haven’t you absorbed this fire essence?" Mo Wen asked in surprise upon noticing Xiao Hei’s lack of action.
"Boss, what exactly is this creature?" Xiao Hei did not answer Mo Wen’s question.
"I’m not sure either; just absorb it for now and we can study this later." Mo Wen frowned; earlier he had been too anxious to set up the seal and only glanced around hastily without taking in the full situation. Now that he looked again, everything felt strangely familiar—it resembled something from his past.
The cave spanned about thirty feet in diameter and was spherical in shape with an opening at the top. The inner walls were coated with a layer of fire essence that flowed like grease along the walls. Between the essence and the cave walls was a thin membrane that confined the fire essence within a limited space. In the center of the cave hung a spherical object wrapped in a membrane about the size of a grinding stone; it was suspended by tendons extending from the cave walls. The object contained what appeared to be that blood crystal-like substance he had seen earlier; it now seemed to be divine liquid. The membrane on the cave walls was dissipating while the outer fire essence continued to flow away.
