After processing the divine liquid and essence, the cave revealed its original appearance. Looking around, Mo Wen suddenly realized that the cave where he had previously discovered the blood crystal was formed from a dead Lava Spirit. The only difference was that the essence of fire within that cave had completely dissipated. Comparing the two, he couldn't help but marvel at the wonders of the world. While he had no idea how a Lava Spirit came to be, he now had some clues about how it survived in the Lava Sea. He had initially thought that a Lava Spirit would have a shell similar to that of an oyster, but in reality, it did not. It relied entirely on the essence of fire to shield itself from the intense heat of the lava. It continuously lured Demon Beasts to it, killing them and absorbing their divine essence and Beast Cores. The Law of Power within the Beast Cores was refined into fire essence, which protected its core sphere inside. By the time they finished dealing with the divine liquid and essence, the inner membrane had already vanished, leaving them unable to determine what material it was made of.
If Mo Wen and Xiao Hei hadn't been drawn over, this Lava Spirit might have survived for many more years until it died and formed an empty island-like cavity. The divine liquid inside it might have crystallized under high temperatures.
"What a pity! That guy didn't have any meat; otherwise, I could have tasted what Chimera meat is like," Xiao Hei sighed from the bow of the ship. It seemed he was always preoccupied with whether something was edible. Whenever Mo Wen shared knowledge about Chimeras, his focus invariably circled back to "Can we eat it?"
"Look at you now; you hardly resemble a Divine Beast anymore. If your master saw you like this, he would definitely kick you out," Mo Wen remarked. Xiao Hei had grown round and plump; standing at the bow, one might mistake him for a fluffy ball placed there. Over these days, they had received meat from Demon Beasts almost daily, so they were not lacking in food. Despite being only a little over a foot long, Xiao Hei often ate a lot—half a Demon Beast regardless of size in one sitting.
"This is called being well-rounded! I'm worried about not having enough to eat in the future, so I need to take advantage of this opportunity to eat more while I can," Xiao Hei said as he turned around to face Mo Wen since he was too fat to look back comfortably.
"Haha! Alright then, you're well-rounded. At this rate, you won't need to walk anymore; just curl up your legs and roll forward!" Mo Wen couldn't help but laugh heartily at Xiao Hei's appearance.
"Don't worry; I'll grow up! My master told me that when I grow up, I'll be handsome and mighty," Xiao Hei replied nonchalantly to his leader's teasing; as long as he felt comfortable, that was all that mattered.
"Okay then, let me give you some bad news: you won't be able to eat hot pot anymore."
"Boss, are you cutting my rations as a Divine Beast?" Upon hearing that there would be no hot pot, Xiao Hei immediately became unhappy.
"No, it's just that we're out of water," Mo Wen shook his head. They indeed had run out of water; they could have lasted a while longer, but since Xiao Hei insisted on having hot pot every few days, their water supply dwindled quickly.
"Boss, does that mean if we find water, we can continue eating hot pot?" As soon as he understood that their lack of water was why they couldn't have hot pot, his face lit up with realization.
"Theoretically speaking, yes. But we need to find a lot of water if we want to eat hot pot regularly."
"No problem! Leave it to this Divine Beast!"
