"Your rescuer," Mo Wen sighed. Women were all the same; Zi Lan was no different. He thought this as he spoke to Zhu Xiaohong, not to elicit gratitude, but to lower her guard.
"I'm fine now. You can take your pet and leave my ship," she replied.
"Hey! You've got quite the attitude. Just take a look around—this isn't your ship! Your vessel sank into the Lava Sea long ago. I told you, saving you was a mistake," Zhu Xiaohong's words took Mo Wen by surprise. This woman seemed unreasonable; not only did she fail to thank him, but her tone was also quite disrespectful. When she referred to Xiao Hei as a pet, Xiao Hei bared his teeth in a fierce expression. If it weren't for the boss's orders to keep their identities hidden, he would have scolded her.
After hearing Mo Wen's words, Zhu Xiaohong paused for a moment and glanced around the cabin. This was indeed not her ship; it was much larger than hers and had a Magic Circle that shielded them from the unbearable heat outside. Realizing she had misspoken, her face flushed red. "Thank you for saving me, noble hero. I have nothing to repay you with, but please allow me to leave. After you go out, you can visit Nameless Town..."
"Go to Huo Lou, mention your name and explain the situation; your shopkeeper will surely reward you. Am I wrong?" Mo Wen casually settled down, leaning against one corner of the cabin and interrupting Zhu Xiaohong.
"How... how did you know what I was going to say?" Zhu Xiaohong stood up abruptly, surprised that he could predict her thoughts.
"Since I know your name, I naturally know you're from Huo Lou. I'm just curious—knowing full well that entering the Lava Sea could lead to death or injury, why would you take such a risk?" Mo Wen was genuinely curious about this question. Although he could easily find out the answer, he refrained from using Xiao Hei's skills to investigate Zhu Xiaohong further. It would be impolite, and besides, he already knew her Realm when treating her; she posed no threat.
"I'm sorry, but I cannot disclose that information. Please return my belongings; I will repay your kindness in the future." She couldn't reveal that she had come looking for Fire Lotus to this disheveled man, even if he had saved her.
"Alright then, since you're determined to leave, I won't stop you. However, there's something I must tell you: you were injured by Law, and it took considerable effort for me to bring you back."
"What medicine did you use on me? Please tell me so that I can repay you double in the future." Before Mo Wen could finish his sentence, Zhu Xiaohong clasped her hands in gratitude.
"It was just a Fire Lotus," he replied casually.
"Fire Lotus!" Upon hearing Mo Wen mention Fire Lotus, Zhu Xiaohong collapsed onto the floor as if all her strength had been drained away in an instant. "Impossible! It can't be! I've searched for so long and couldn't find it..." She understood its significance well; she had entered this place specifically to find Fire Lotus. Now hearing that it had been used to save her made her feel as if the sky had fallen down upon her. Already weak, she fainted again from the shock.
"Well..." Seeing Zhu Xiaohong faint again, Mo Wen quickly got up to check on her and then carried her to the bed. The cabin hadn't originally contained a bed; this makeshift luxury bed had been set up specifically for this patient. "Alas, what a tragedy!"
"How is it going, Old Zhu? The Old Man said your precious daughter would turn misfortune into fortune; do you still not believe it?" Bao Ya looked at Zhu Chi sitting across from him. For some time now, Zhu Chi had been clutching his daughter's life talisman tightly in his hand as if he might crush it at any moment. He had been frowning deeply until today when he finally showed signs of relief.
