"You all must die to accompany him; if you don't die, everyone will live in peace," Jiang Chen said with a smile, sending chills down the spines of those present. His tone was calm yet carried a sharp decisiveness, assuring that he could back up his words with action.
The members of the Sea God Clan wore grave expressions, their dozens of eyes locking onto Jiang Chen like hungry wolves, creating an atmosphere in the hall that was stifling.
Finally, a voice broke the silence. It was old and weathered, imbued with the weight of time, giving off a sense of distant tranquility. "You come to our territory uninvited and speak such words; is that not too arrogant?" spoke the Clan Leader of the Sea God Clan.
The Clan Leader, Xin Ku Yang, was a cultivator who had lived for a thousand years and was undoubtedly one of the oldest beings among the human race on Earth today. As he spoke, others naturally parted to make way for him, surrounding him in silence.
Jiang Chen's gaze casually fell upon Xin Ku Yang. The latter's strength had already reached the Foundation Establishment Stage. It was indeed surprising to find a Foundation Establishment Stage cultivator still existing on Earth; even if Xin Ku Yang's mastery was limited to just one aspect of the Dao, he had done remarkably well in the current era.
"Chieftain Xin, it is not arrogance on my part but rather your weakness. To put it in your terms, you are merely like a Blue Feather Chicken in my eyes; how do you view a Blue Feather Chicken? That is how I view you," Jiang Chen said with a smile.
Xin Ku Yang's expression darkened further; Jiang Chen's arrogance seemed to know no bounds. Having lived for a millennium, he had never been so openly disdained.
"Ha! It seems your strength has reached a point where you no longer regard us at all. I am curious to witness your abilities," Xin Ku Yang said coldly, his tone laced with murderous intent.
However, it wasn't entirely fair to blame Jiang Chen for instigating trouble. At his level, he had truly reached a state where he remained unperturbed by praise or insult. Any so-called strong person appeared insignificant in his eyes; his words were not arrogance but simply the truth. And truth is often unpalatable.
"Very well; I am also curious about Chieftain Xin's abilities," Jiang Chen replied with a grin.
"Let’s step outside; I would prefer not to see an outsider's blood staining the Sea God Hall," Xin Ku Yang said indifferently, his tone icy.
Feeling that his dignity had been insulted, Xin Ku Yang thought that although Jiang Chen’s strength seemed unfathomable, he believed that his thousand years of cultivation were no joke. He should not be intimidated by an outsider—especially one who appeared to be just a young man.
"It doesn't matter; we can do it here. We won't need much time for this. It shouldn't take long for you to hunt down a Blue Feather Chicken, right?" Jiang Chen laughed.
"You are far too unaware of your own limitations," Xin Ku Yang said furiously, clenching his fists, though reason held him back from acting immediately.
"Come, follow me outside; there’s a place where we can fight," Xin Ku Yang declared and stepped out of the Sea God Hall first. He tossed out a green leaf that soared into the air and transformed into a two-meter-long flying leaf that looked quite soft. Xin Ku Yang leaped onto the flying leaf and took off.
Elder Tie Yinghu and others had not yet reached the Foundation Establishment Stage and could not manipulate flying treasures to soar through the sky freely. Moreover, treasures like Xin Ku Yang’s leaf were rare even during the Cultivation Era thousands of years ago on Earth; let alone now, flying treasures were not something everyone could possess.
