The spiritual energy contained within the Xiao Dun was extraordinary. Once it was summoned, Xin Ku Yang recited an incantation, infusing it with spiritual energy. In an instant, the Xiao Dun transformed into a large shield, standing protectively in front of Xin Ku Yang.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The ice arrows struck the shield like hail hitting steel, producing a crisp sound as they shattered upon impact. The shield glimmered with spiritual light, leaving only a few icy scratches behind.
" Chieftain Xin, you certainly have quite a collection of magical artifacts," Jiang Chen's voice came through with a hint of mockery.
Xin Ku Yang lowered the shield and glanced at the seemingly relaxed Jiang Chen, his expression unusually serious. Although the ice arrows had been blocked by the shield, making it appear as though they were evenly matched, only Xin Ku Yang understood the true implications of the situation. His arm holding the shield trembled slightly, and it was evident that the shield's spiritual energy had been significantly depleted. If another wave of ice arrows came, he wasn't sure if the shield could withstand it. Fortunately, as Clan Leader, he possessed several magical artifacts at his disposal.
"I never expected that you could not only manipulate water but also wield ice powers. I underestimated you. However, I find it curious that outside this place, the spiritual energy has long dissipated and is insufficient to support your cultivation. It’s truly astonishing that you can practice both water and ice techniques out there," Xin Ku Yang remarked, his tone softening.
After their first encounter, Xin Ku Yang realized that Jiang Chen's earlier arrogance was indeed backed by confidence.
"The spiritual energy outside may not compare to what you have here, but it is vast. If all the spiritual energy were to be gathered together, it might not be much inferior to what you possess," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"You mean to say you've used formations like Spirit Gathering Formation to collect the external spiritual energy?" Xin Ku Yang's expression shifted as he felt surprised.
Jiang Chen nodded slightly.
"You truly are remarkable," Xin Ku Yang said, at a loss for words. In the end, he could only express his admiration. It seemed to echo that old saying: there are mountains beyond mountains and people beyond people.
"Shall we continue fighting?" Jiang Chen asked with a smile.
"No need. Just based on your mastery of two attributes alone, I cannot compete with you," Xin Ku Yang acknowledged gracefully, maintaining a good attitude.
"Then we can sit down and have a proper chat. To be honest, I really like the environment here. If I could enjoy a fine drink while appreciating the beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains, it would be quite delightful," Jiang Chen said with a slight smile.
"Indeed," Xin Ku Yang replied with a smile of his own.

By the lakeside pavilion, at a sandalwood table, Jiang Chen and Xin Ku Yang sat across from each other. Xin Ku Yang had already sent someone to prepare food and wine while Tie Yinghu and other elders stood outside the pavilion, watching from a distance without daring to intrude. However, their presence was still deemed necessary.
Tie Yinghu called Tie Shan and Tie Luan over to inquire about the situation. Under the pressure of their master's aura, Tie Shan had no choice but to recount everything that had transpired in detail.
"Heh, do you two really think that I am a fool? Just the two of you, even if you manage to leave the city, you will never be able to escape from here," Tie Yinghu scoffed, clearly already aware of his two disciples' intentions to defect.
Tie Shan and Tie Luan exchanged awkward glances.
"The outside world may seem colorful and vibrant, but unfortunately, it lacks Spiritual Energy. Diseases run rampant, and people's lifespans barely reach seventy or eighty years. Is this the kind of place you long for? If you choose the outside world, it means you are giving up on your cultivation, and you will only fade into obscurity among the masses," Tie Yinghu reprimanded them.
"But, but Mr. Jiang is just a person from the outside world, isn't he?" Tie Shan suddenly spoke up in a hushed voice.
