"Mr. Jiang, you don't believe me?" Xin Ku Yang furrowed his brows slightly.
"I don't believe you," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"Did you not just say that there are many incredible things in this world and that there's no need to be overly surprised?" Xin Ku Yang countered, using Jiang Chen's own words against him.
"Haha," Jiang Chen chuckled, finding it amusing. "Chieftain Xin, when I say something, it holds weight. But when you say it, especially to me, it loses its validity. My understanding of formations should surpass yours."
Xin Ku Yang's face turned pale; he felt both embarrassed and helpless. From their earlier exchange, he realized that he could not match Jiang Chen's knowledge.
"The formation here is indeed remarkable, but it is impossible for it to operate for tens of thousands of years or bear the weight of the sea above," Jiang Chen stated.
"Mr. Jiang, seeing is believing. You can look up now; this isn't just the magic of formations—could it be the work of nature? Of course, there may be some reliance on nature, but primarily, it is the extraordinary legacy of my ancestors from the Sea God Clan," Xin Ku Yang interjected before Jiang Chen could finish. He naturally wanted to defend the glory of his ancestors.
"This formation relies mainly on two treasures. One is undoubtedly a Spiritual Vein, and the other one, I fear even Chieftain Xin may not know about," Jiang Chen explained.
Upon hearing Jiang Chen mention the Spiritual Vein, Xin Ku Yang's expression changed. He understood the significance of a Spiritual Vein in today's world, especially for someone like Jiang Chen who practiced cultivation. The mention of it made Xin Ku Yang feel uneasy, as if a precious treasure of his was being eyed by a thief.
"What is this other treasure?" Xin Ku Yang asked, his gaze filled with skepticism. He truly did not know what Jiang Chen was referring to; it seemed absurd that an outsider knew more about his clan's treasures than he did as Clan Leader.
"The Stone of Heaven Mending."
"The Stone of Heaven Mending?" Xin Ku Yang was genuinely surprised now.
He had heard of the Stone of Heaven Mending; it was a treasure from mythological stories used by Goddess Nüwa to mend the heavens. However, it was said that there were not many stones left after her repairs.
The fact that his Sea God Clan possessed such an extraordinary treasure as the Stone of Heaven Mending was something Xin Ku Yang had no knowledge of, while Jiang Chen did—this was yet another unfathomable matter.
"Is it the Stone of Heaven Mending crafted by Goddess Nüwa?" Xin Ku Yang asked excitedly.
"It's just a special type of spiritual stone found in various cultivation worlds across the universe. Whether or not it was crafted by Goddess Nüwa remains unknown. This Stone of Heaven Mending acts as a... adhesive for stone attributes. As long as it's used in constructing stone towers, they can stand firm without collapsing. The sky here is made entirely of piled stones; without the Stone of Heaven Mending, relying solely on formations would not sustain them over time," Jiang Chen explained.
"Mr. Jiang, you really know a lot," Xin Ku Yang said with a bitter smile, feeling like a frog at the bottom of a well in front of Jiang Chen—completely ignorant.
Jiang Chen smiled faintly and continued, "Chieftain Xin, in a few years when Earth's Spiritual Energy revives, you won't need to stay here any longer; you might as well find an island to live on."
"Let's talk about that later," Xin Ku Yang replied noncommittally; he did not hold an optimistic view regarding the Mountain and Sea Secret Realm.
"Let's continue drinking," Jiang Chen said, choosing not to elaborate further.
