"Ma Tao, are you robbing me?"
He leaned back in his chair, his expression cold. "Is it too expensive for you?"
I gritted my teeth. "Fine."
"Is the contract ready?"
"Almost." He made a phone call, and soon an assistant brought in the contract.
I glanced at it; there were no issues, so I signed it right away.
"Come to the company tomorrow to sign the contract."
"Okay." I stood up and left.
After exiting Ma Group, I let out a long sigh of relief.
Now that I had a place for the plastic bottles, I could finally start collecting them without holding back.
As for the other waste materials, I'd have to think of another solution.
The next day, after signing the contract at Ma Group, Ma Tao asked me, "What are you planning to do with the other waste materials?"
"I haven't figured it out yet," I replied with a wry smile.
"Take your time to think," he said, looking down at the documents. "Let me know when you have a plan."
I silently watched him.
Ma Tao was truly an insufferable person.
"Ma Tao," I said through clenched teeth, "could you do me a favor?"
"What kind of favor?" he asked indifferently.
"Could you help me deal with the other waste materials?" I lowered my tone and pleaded, "I'm begging you."
"Begging me?" He sneered, "Is that what you're doing?"
I blinked, "What else could it be?"
I was filled with questions.
Was he out of his mind?
"Mr. Ma, could you please have a little pity on me?" I said with a smile.
Ma Tao snorted, "No way."
I frowned.
What a jerk!
"Are you going to help or not?"
"No," he replied firmly.
"Fine." I stood up to leave.
After stepping out of the office, I called Ran Ran. "Ran Ran, should we consider cutting off the source of his power?"
"Huh?" Ran Ran paused, "What do you mean?"
I explained the situation to her. "What do you think?"
"I think..." she hesitated, "I think he wishes you were dead."
I fell silent.
Indeed.
Ma Tao wished I were dead.
But why does he insist that I do business?
Is it just to mock me?
That can't be the case, can it?
I can't figure it out.
But no matter how confused I am, I still have to do the business.
I discussed it with Ran Ran and decided to look for buyers in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
Since Ma Tao refused to buy my scrap materials, I would find someone else to take them.
After all, the whole country is promoting environmental protection now; the scrap collection industry surely has a bright future!
I must sell my scrap materials nationwide!
I want to become a true king of garbage!
Ran Ran agreed.
She suggested I try Shanghai first.
If that doesn't work, then I should go to Guangzhou.
If Guangzhou fails, then I'll head to Shenzhen.
In any case, I must make this business successful.
Listening to Ran Ran's advice, I went to Shanghai first.
I spent half a month running around Shanghai.
Yet, I still couldn't find a good opportunity.
Because my waste materials are mostly plastic bottles and similar items, I have no fixed channels and can't gain anyone's recognition.
So I can only go to Shenzhen and try my luck.
I still couldn't find a good way out in Shenzhen.
The business deal fell through, and I found myself stuck in Shenzhen.
"Why aren't you back yet?" Ran Ran asked anxiously.
"I'm on my way," I reassured her. "I'll be back soon."
"Hurry up! I'm going crazy here," she sighed. "Why have you been gone for so long?"
She must have realized that a lot of time had passed.
I thought it had only been two or three days.
I didn't expect that a whole month had already gone by.
"Just hang in there for a few more days," I said. "I'll be back before you know it."
"Alright then," Ran Ran replied helplessly. "Just take care of yourself."
"Okay." I hung up the phone.
