The Order of the Holy Shield?
My mind raced as I tried to recall the origins of that name.
Wait a minute...
The Order of the Holy Shield...
Isn't that the organization that claims to be the harbingers of justice, capturing "virus-infected" individuals everywhere?
What the hell!
How did they find this place?
Could it be... that old man betrayed us?
I shot a fierce glare at the old man; he really was unreliable!
I should have known better than to trust him. Now look, trouble has come!
"Nightingale," I lowered my voice, feeling a bit dry in my throat, "it seems... we need to find another place to talk. This one... isn't very safe."
"Hmph," Nightingale sneered, her gaze like that of a butcher eyeing a lamb ready for slaughter. "Do you really think... you can escape?"
Whether I could escape or not was another matter; I couldn't lose my momentum!
"Let's see about that?" I shrugged, trying to appear relaxed, though inside I was a bundle of nerves. This woman had quite the bravado; if I didn't know any better, I'd think she was some kind of unparalleled master.
I pulled Zhong Dali along, ready to make a run for it. We couldn't stay here any longer; it was time to escape. The best strategy in times like this was to flee!
"Stop!" Nightingale's sharp voice rang out, making my eardrums buzz. "Where do you think you're going?"
As I ran, I glanced back and spoke rapidly, "Of course... I'm running away! Do you expect me to just stay here... and wait to die? Do you think I'm an idiot?"
"You won't be able to escape," Nightingale said leisurely, her tone dripping with confidence. "This place... is already surrounded by us. You can't fly away."
Surrounded?
I silently cursed in my heart. This woman really overestimated me. With my meager skills, how could I possibly escape?
Surely, she must be joking!
"Is that so?" I sneered, forcing myself to sound calm. "Then... let's see about that!"
I dragged Zhong Dali toward the entrance of the underground space. We had to get out of here quickly; otherwise, our lives would be in danger!
Just as we reached the entrance, a group of soldiers clad in silver armor charged in. They wielded various weapons, each looking fierce and menacing—definitely not a group to mess with.
What the hell!
This was quite the setup!
If someone didn't know better, they'd think we were gearing up for a world war!
It seemed that today was going to end badly for me.
I silently lamented in my heart; this time, it was truly the end!
Just then, I suddenly felt a powerful force coming from behind me. I turned around and saw Nightingale charging towards me with astonishing speed, like a gust of wind.
My heart sank; this woman was indeed formidable!
I quickly dodged, narrowly avoiding Nightingale's attack. If she had hit me, I would have been seriously injured, if not worse!
"Wei Na," Nightingale's voice drifted into my ears like a ghostly whisper, "you can't escape. Just surrender quietly!"
Surrender?
I let out a cold laugh; there was no way I would ever give in!
The only way I would surrender is if the sun rose in the west!
I grabbed Zhong Dali again and dashed towards the other side of the underground space. I couldn't stay here any longer; I had to escape quickly, or my life would be in jeopardy!
Halfway through my escape, I spotted a familiar figure appearing in front of me. I focused and realized it was… Xie Yutong!
What the hell!
Why was she here too?
What day is it today? Are they coming to catch me in a group?
"Wei Na," Xie Yutong said with a charming smile, her eyes sparkling as if they could captivate one's soul. "Long time no see."
I silently cursed in my heart; this woman… she was definitely here for me!
"What do you want?" I asked warily, sensing that her intentions were far from good. I needed to be cautious.
"Of course… I'm here to catch you," Xie Yutong replied, her tone laced with mockery that made my teeth itch. "Did you really think… you could escape?"
"Let's see about that," I shrugged, trying to maintain my composure while my heart raced. This woman had quite the audacity; one would think she was some kind of unparalleled master.
"Alright then," Xie Yutong chuckled softly, her voice making my bones feel weak. "Let's give it a try!"
In an instant, Xie Yutong's figure flickered and she appeared right in front of me, moving with astonishing speed like a gust of wind.
I was taken aback; this woman… truly was not simple!
No wonder she could be called the Queen of Green Tea; with speed like that, it would be a shame if she didn’t deliver packages!
I quickly dodged, narrowly avoiding Xie Yutong's attack. If she hit me, I wouldn't just be hurt—I might end up in serious trouble!
"Wei Na," Xie Yutong's voice was as soft as a feather but carried an undeniable authority. "You can't escape; just surrender obediently!"
Surrender?
I let out a cold laugh; there was no way I would ever surrender!
If you want me to give up, you'll have to wait until my next life!
I pulled Zhong Dali along and dashed towards the exit of the underground space. I couldn’t stay here any longer; I had to escape quickly, or my life would be in danger!
"Thinking of running away?" Xie Yutong sneered. "It's not that easy!"
Xie Yutong chased after us again, moving even faster than before, like a bolt of lightning.
I silently cursed in my heart. This woman... must be a rabbit or something! How could she run so fast?
I exerted all my strength and desperately pushed forward; this time... it was truly a matter of life and death!
Just then, I suddenly heard a loud crash behind me. I turned around to see Zhong Dali being attacked by Nightingale and Xie Yutong working together. The situation was dire.
Oh no!
This time... it was really the end!
I lamented inwardly; it seemed that today... I was doomed!
