Zhu Xiaohong shared her thoughts with Mo Wen, but was met with his opposition. Seeing that Mo Wen disagreed with her, tears almost welled up in her eyes. "Fine, if you want to go on an adventure, that's okay, but we can't stray from our route. If we encounter a Demon Beast, you'll handle it," he said. After all, they had already come this far, and there weren't any powerful Demon Beasts left to threaten her aside from humans. With Mo Wen's consent, a sly glint appeared in the corners of Zhu Xiaohong's eyes.
"Xiao Hei, let's go hunt that Demon Beast!" Zhu Xiaohong exclaimed as she picked up Xiao Hei and charged towards the creature.
"Haha! This is my haul!" Zhu Xiaohong laughed heartily at her spoils. Mo Wen glanced at her collection and twitched his lips; even he wouldn't have looked twice at those items.
"Listen up, everyone! Hand over one medicinal herb each, or don't blame me for being rude! And if I catch you doing any dirty deeds here again, I'll make sure you regret it!" Zhu Xiaohong declared, one hand on her hip and the other pointing at a group of bruised warriors across from her. These warriors had initially thought they could rob the two of them since there were only two on their side, but they ended up getting beaten up instead. In the end, each of them surrendered a medicinal herb as per Zhu Xiaohong's demand before she let them go.
At first, Mo Wen was not used to this change in her demeanor, but he had long since adapted. It was tough for Zhu Xiaohong too; she had been under her father's watchful eye all the time. Now that she had finally escaped, she felt like a beast unleashed and naturally began to enjoy her newfound freedom. He had endured quite a bit during this journey, but that suffering was about to end. Looking at the exit of the Lava Sea ahead, Mo Wen felt a deep sense of relief.
As they approached the exit, Zhu Xiaohong began to feel downcast because her good days were dwindling with their proximity to freedom.
"Er Gou, little brother, you have to take your sister out to play in the future; otherwise... heh heh, you know what I mean," Zhu Xiaohong said. She no longer required Mo Wen to call her "Little Red"; now she was the captain of the ship—"Sister Red."
"Of course! Of course! Little brother will take Sister Red wherever he goes," Mo Wen replied eagerly. Looking at Zhu Xiaohong's mischievous smile, he nodded repeatedly. If it weren't for her refusal to bring Fire Lotus back with them, he would have wanted to toss this devilish woman overboard and escape far away from her. Moreover, once they got out, Zhu Xiaohong would surely be grounded by Old Zhu; even if she wasn't confined, she would immediately enter seclusion to break through. At that point, he could leave whenever he wanted. His only concern was whether this wild woman would reveal her constant threats to Old Zhu. Given Old Zhu's doting nature towards his daughter, if he found out that Mo Wen had taken liberties with his precious daughter, the consequences would be dire.
"Here, keep this safe. Don't think I don't know what you're plotting; you're definitely thinking that once we get out of this Lava Sea, you'll fly away and leave me behind. I've already anticipated that! As long as you have this sachet with you, there's no way you're escaping my grasp," Zhu Xiaohong said with an air of someone who had seen through a conspiracy as she pulled out a sachet and handed it to Mo Wen.
"Uh... Sister Red is quite perceptive; you've even seen through my little thoughts. But this sachet is your personal item... giving it to me might not be appropriate?" Mo Wen hesitated as he looked at the sachet she offered him. Although he hadn't interacted much with girls before this journey, he had gained quite a bit of insight along the way; from its appearance alone, it seemed like something a girl would carry closely with her.
