The nameless signboards outside the town always moved outward with each expansion. In Nameless Town, there were eight such signboards, positioned at the ends of roads in all directions, facing the central Huo Lou from a distance. Due to recent storms, business at Huo Lou had been exceptionally good, with a constant stream of people coming and going. Mo Wen wandered around Street like a bystander, glancing here and there, having spent quite a long time away and still struggling to adapt to the scene before him.
Finally arriving in front of Huo Lou, he noticed it was already dusk. After taking a look at the imposing structure, Mo Wen turned to leave; it was not the right time to visit Huo Lou. He had sold off items obtained from Gong Gan and others in batches at the black market and had managed to acquire an Identity Tag before finding a place to settle.
The next day, at dawn, Mo Wen left the inn and headed straight for Huo Lou.
"Please inform Elder Zhu that I wish to see him!" He handed over the token that Zhu Chi had given him previously. The attendant, seeing it was Elder Zhu's token, hurried off without delay.
"Young friend has arrived; I apologize for not welcoming you personally!" Within less than a stick of incense's time, Zhu Chi came down from upstairs. Upon confirming that Elder Zhu was indeed coming for him, Mo Wen felt somewhat embarrassed. Zhu Chi's action drew curious glances from those in the hall; after all, it was quite unusual for Elder Zhu of Huo Lou to personally greet a young man.
"Senior Zhu, you flatter me!" After some polite exchanges, they headed straight up to the fifth floor.
"What brings you here today?" They sat on the floor as Zhu Chi poured tea for Mo Wen. Naturally, he was referring to Mo Wen's appearance; he had previously looked like a burly man named Ran Xu, but now he revealed his true self.
"My apologies, Senior. When I first entered the world of martial arts years ago, I was always worried that ill-intentioned people would harm me. However, during this journey into the sea for training, I have come to understand that no one cares about my face. Since that is the case, why hide any longer?" Mo Wen took a sip of tea and then pulled out a box, placing it on the table.
"This?" Seeing the familiar box brought back memories; it was the one he had given this young man to hold Fire Lotus. Mo Wen's straightforwardness in presenting it surprised Zhu Chi.
"Please take a look, Senior. Is this what you entrusted me with back then?" Mo Wen gestured for Zhu Chi to examine it.
Zhu Chi opened the box and an icy aura emanated from within. In that instant, the temperature in the room dropped noticeably. The box faced Zhu Chi directly, catching him off guard and causing him to shiver slightly. Closing the box, he felt both cold and excited; his hands trembled as he held it. "It can't be wrong! It can't be wrong! This is indeed Fire Lotus! I never expected... after all these years..."
Zhu Chi did not continue; retrieving Fire Lotus was not difficult for him, but entering Lava Sea was beyond his reach. He could not violate his mission or break his vow. The environment where Fire Lotus thrived was perilous for anyone who could enter Lava Sea—not only due to high temperatures but also because of the Demon Beasts guarding it. The fact that this young man could retrieve Fire Lotus exceeded his expectations and confirmed what Mr. Bao had said earlier; his personal descent downstairs was primarily due to Fire Lotus and secondarily because of Mr. Bao's words.
"Young friend, I thank you!" Zhu Chi set down the box and stood up, bowing respectfully.
"Senior! Please don't! Ah! We are merely conducting a transaction; there is no need for such formality!" Mo Wen's attention had not been on Zhu Chi; he had been contemplating his next plan when this unexpected bow startled him into quickly rising to return the gesture.
