"You can't say that; it's just that Brother Hu Chi has a high opinion and doesn't think much of it. However, this time is different from before; it will definitely satisfy you," the speaker said with a mysterious smile.
"Brother Hal, is that true?" Hal, known for being well-informed in this snowy city, became serious upon seeing his mysterious demeanor.
"Would I lie to you? I heard it from an Elder at the Extreme Goods Pavilion. Apparently, this time the items will be valued based on Ling Crystals," Hal replied confidently. The two continued discussing the auction while Mo Wen listened nearby.
Mo Wen spent the entire day in the tea house, absorbing the conversations about events in the snowy city. It was only as night approached that he rose to return to the inn. Sitting at a table in the inn, he reflected on the information he had gathered that day. If he were to stay long-term in the snowy city, this information would indeed be useful. There were plenty of local gossip and stories circulating in the tea house, but he did not plan to reside there permanently.
"The auction? Well, I've found no leads on the Mo Family these days; perhaps I should check out the auction and consider it a way to relax." With thoughts of the Extreme Goods Pavilion's auction in mind, Mo Wen decided to go and experience the local culture of the snowy city.
"Boss, what's an auction?" Xiao Hei, who had been listening to Mo Wen's mutterings, asked. Recently, his boss often spoke to himself, which made him worry without knowing how to help. He realized that his boss was quite stubborn; once he set his mind on something, he would pursue it relentlessly. What had started as a casual remark from Xiao Hei had turned into a serious quest for Mo Wen.
Worried that Boss Mo might discover his lies and punish him, Xiao Hei had been obediently staying within the Square Inch World as per Mo Wen's instructions.
"I'll take you along so you can see for yourself," Mo Wen replied. The reason he hadn't let Xiao Hei out earlier was for safety. Even though Xiao Hei was merely seen as a Beast by those identification masters before, he noticed many people walking around with their beast companions in the snowy city. It was no wonder there had been so many beast riders from Black Tiger Camp.
Hearing that Boss Mo would take him to see the auction made Xiao Hei excited; he could gain more experience.
"Once we get there, you need to behave and avoid using your skills so no one notices you," Mo Wen specifically instructed Xiao Hei before heading out. He then placed him into a bag hung across his chest, leaving only his head exposed. Since Xiao Hei was only about a foot long, a simple beast bag sufficed, which relieved Mo Wen significantly; carrying a high-grade beast bag might attract unwanted attention.
As they left the inn and headed straight for the Extreme Goods Pavilion, Mo Wen expected a bustling crowd at the entrance but found only a few people arguing with the doorman. "Why can't we go inside? Does your Extreme Goods Pavilion look down on us?"
"Please calm down, gentlemen. It's not about looking down on anyone; it's just that our owner has instructed that this auction is only for guests of Qi Binding Realm and above. Please return," the doorman explained calmly. The Extreme Goods Pavilion held some influence in the snowy city, with connections to several powerful figures there. Upon hearing this explanation, those who had been furious could only shake their heads and disperse.
"This way in, sir!" The doorman quickly approached as soon as he saw Mo Wen approaching.
"Little brother, aren't you going to verify my Realm?" Mo Wen asked curiously. The doorman was merely a martial artist; without revealing any aura himself, how did he know that Mo Wen could enter?
