The warehouse door was slightly ajar. Lin Xiaofan gently pushed it open, and a musty smell mixed with some kind of chemical odor rushed out to greet him. Su Yuqing switched on her flashlight, the beam sweeping over piles of cardboard boxes—“Love Bags,” “Disaster Relief Blankets,” “Nutritional Lunches”... 0

“It’s all donations from the Zhao Foundation!” she exclaimed, tearing open one of the boxes. Inside, the “blanket” was as thin as a cicada's wing, crinkling in her hands. “Fake cotton...” 0

Lin Xiaofan rummaged through other boxes: leaking “stainless steel” lunch boxes, moldy “hardcover” books, and plastic bags labeled “organic rice” filled with sand and broken grains. Each box had a donation record affixed to it—the recipients were clearly the schools and welfare homes recently aided by Weiguang Public Welfare! 0

“He’s swapping them out...” Lin Xiaofan’s blood boiled. “Selling off the real supplies and replacing them with this garbage!” 0

Su Yuqing had already started recording on her phone, the camera panning over the logistics slips on the shelves. “Look at the dates; they’re from just the last few days... Ah!” 0

A dull thud echoed as Su Yuqing’s phone fell to the ground. From the shadows emerged five or six security guards, led by Zhang Hao, who was holding a rubber baton. 0

“Bro, I knew you’d come,” Zhang Hao said, his gold chain glinting in the darkness. “President Zhao said if you stop now, you can still walk away with five million.” 0

Lin Xiaofan shielded Su Yuqing behind him. “Are you even human? These are all for the kids in disaster areas!” 0

“It’s just business.” Zhang Hao shrugged. “What do those country kids know about good and bad?” He stepped forward, striking his palm with the baton. “Last chance, cousin.” 0

“Go to hell!” Lin Xiaofan shouted as he grabbed a metal can and hurled it at him, seizing the moment to pull Su Yuqing toward a side door. 0

“Stop them!” 0

The security guards surged forward. Lin Xiaofan pushed Su Yuqing away. “Go find A Long!” He was immediately struck in the abdomen by a punch and fell to his knees. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Su Yuqing disappear around a corner and breathed a sigh of relief before being yanked back by his hair. 0

“You’re asking for trouble.” Zhang Hao spat. “President Zhao will be here soon; let’s see how he deals with you...” 0

Suddenly, the lights blazed bright. Under the glaring spotlight stood Zhao Tianming, his elegant figure appearing at the warehouse entrance as he toyed with an emerald ring. 0

“Just in time.” He smiled as he surveyed the chaotic scene. “Let’s deal with this together.” 0

Lin Xiaofan struggled to stand up, blood seeping from his mouth. “Mining accidents, embezzlement, swapping supplies... You can’t escape; we already have evidence...” 0

“Evidence?” Zhao Tianming chuckled lightly and signaled for his men to bring over an iron bucket. “You mean these?” He tossed several sheets of paper into the bucket and ignited them with a lighter—the flames instantly consumed the pages—Lin Xiaofan recognized his father’s handwriting! 0

“I could burn it once twenty years ago; I can burn it again today.” Zhao Tianming stepped on the ashes scattered on the ground. “As for you... I’m afraid tonight there will be a fire caused by a burglary here.” 0

The security guards began pouring gasoline around, filling the warehouse with a pungent odor. Lin Xiaofan looked around in despair and suddenly noticed the fire escape plan on the wall—the basement entrance was right behind the shelves! 0

“System!” he shouted in his mind. “Help me!” 0

【Emergency assistance activated】 0
【Remaining energy 90%】 0
【Suggestion: Create a distraction】 0

A faint vibration came from his pocket as Lin Xiaofan's phone automatically dialed Su Yuqing's number. The next moment, a piercing siren echoed outside the warehouse. 0

"Police?" The security guards panicked. 0

Zhao Tianming's expression changed. "Idiot! That's the sound of an ambulance!" 0

But it was too late. Lin Xiaofan seized the opportunity to crash into a shelf. Piles of cardboard boxes collapsed with a thunderous noise, revealing an iron door behind them. He desperately twisted the doorknob—locked! 0

"Run, keep running." Zhao Tianming approached leisurely, his emerald ring glinting like a serpent under the light. "I want to see how that broken system saves you now..." 0

Lin Xiaofan's pupils constricted suddenly. "How do you know about the system?" 0

Zhao Tianming smiled without answering, pulling out something from his suit pocket that sent chills down Lin Xiaofan's spine—a system interface identical to his phone's, but in dark red hues. 0

"You thought you were the only one 'chosen'?" Zhao Tianming tapped the screen lightly. "Unfortunately, my system is far more advanced than yours..." 0

Gasoline pooled at his feet as the flame from a lighter flickered in the darkness. Lin Xiaofan leaned against the iron door, watching as Zhao Tianming slowly raised a burning piece of paper... 0

"Bang!" 0

With a loud crash, the iron door was suddenly smashed open from the inside! Lin Xiaofan fell back into darkness, caught by a strong pair of hands—it was A Long! Standing behind A Long were Su Yuqing, wielding a fire axe, and Old Zhou, seated in a wheelchair. 0

"Quickly!" Old Zhou maneuvered his wheelchair to clear the way. "The basement leads to the back door!" 0

Behind them came Zhao Tianming's furious roar and chaotic footsteps. Lin Xiaofan was the last to dash into the passageway, turning back to see Zhao Tianming silhouetted in the flames, the dark red system interface flickering in his hand like a drop of blood poised to fall. 0
