The torrential rain outside pounded against the laboratory's glass windows, creating a rhythmic sound. Lin Dahe rubbed his tired eyes and recorded the last set of data in the table. The blue light from the computer screen illuminated his face, which hadn’t seen a razor in three days. On the experimental table, thirty-six petri dishes filled with rice seedlings were neatly arranged. 0

"Just two more hours, and I can collect the data..." he muttered as he twisted open a bottle of mineral water. Suddenly, a blinding flash of lightning split the night sky, causing the lights in the entire building to flicker violently. 0

Instinctively, Lin Dahe grabbed the metal rack to steady himself, but at the moment his fingertips touched the frame, he saw a blue-white arc of electricity racing up his arm. 0

"What the—?!" 0

The blinding white light engulfed his vision, and the last thing he noticed was one of the tender green seedlings in the dish bending its leaves toward him in an eerie manner. 0

"Cough cough!" 0

When Lin Dahe awoke, he found his head resting on a damp bundle of thatch. He instinctively pushed his glasses up his nose, only to find his hand covered in straw debris. Opening his eyes, he saw that the leaky thatched roof above him was swaying, with rays of sunlight filtering through the gaps and casting fragmented spots of light on the muddy ground. 0

"What’s going on…?" 0

He sat up abruptly, causing the tattered quilt covering him to slide off. This wasn’t the fireproof blanket from the school laboratory; it was a coarse cloth quilt patched together and smelling musty. Looking down at himself, he saw he was wearing a loose brown tunic held up by a hemp rope belt, resembling a costume from a historical drama. 0

"Ding!" 0

A crisp notification sound exploded in his ears as a translucent screen suddenly unfolded before him: 0

【Farmhouse Development Plan System activated successfully】 0

"I’ve crossed over?!" Lin Dahe pinched himself hard, wincing at the pain. He stood barefoot on the cold muddy ground, feeling sharp stones digging into his soles. 0

The only piece of furniture in the room was a rickety wooden table with a chipped earthen bowl on top. In one corner lay half a bag of clumped brown rice, next to which stood a large cracked earthen jar with green water pooling at its bottom. 0

"This starting point is too miserable..." Lin Dahe chuckled bitterly as he rummaged through the rice bag and suddenly noticed an oil-paper package hidden in the shadows behind the jar. Carefully unwrapping it revealed several tubers about the size of eggs, still coated in fresh soil. 0

"Potatoes?" As a graduate student from an agricultural college, he immediately recognized these as basic high-yield crops. 0

The system suddenly popped up with a new notification: 【Detected high-quality potato seeds; can be exchanged for 5 experience points】 0
Just as Lin Dahe was about to click "exchange," he suddenly heard the clucking of hens in the yard. Peering through the crack in the door, he saw several speckled chickens scratching at the ground by the fence, while in the distance, rolling yellow earth slopes stretched out, with a couple of farmers bent over working in the fields. 0

"I need to solve the irrigation problem first..." He looked around and his gaze fell on a well-preserved pottery jar under the bed. He pulled it out and took a whiff, only to be overwhelmed by a strong stench of urine that made him step back. 0

"A chamber pot..." 0

An idea struck him. He grabbed a rusty hatchet from the corner and carefully drilled a few small holes in the bottom of the jar. Then, he took some straw from the rice sack and twisted it into thin strings, hanging the chamber pot on a tree branch in the yard. Just as he was about to pour water into the jar for testing, a startled voice suddenly came from outside the fence: 0

"What a sin! The Lin Family Boy is going mad holding that chamber pot!" 0
