“Ha, there’s not a soul around.” Releasing his grip from where he had covered himself, he realized that there was indeed no one nearby; what was the point of hiding? Nevertheless, he decided to find something to wear first and began walking along the coast.
“What kind of place is this?” Mo Wen sensed something was off. He had been walking for a day and a night, and apart from the Red Ocean and the white sandy beach, he had found nothing. Even more bizarre was that the sun, moon, and that curved line seemed to be directly above him, following his every move. He resolved to try another direction and started heading away from the coast.
“This is a boundary!” Looking at the shimmering wall in front of him, Mo Wen finally realized he was trapped in a small world. This must be a realm similar to a forbidden zone; he could only leave by finding an exit. He began walking along the wall, but this time he lost track of how long he had been walking without finding an exit.
“Could it be in the sea?” Unable to find an exit, Mo Wen returned to the beach. Staring at the Red Ocean before him, his understanding of boundaries was limited to what he had read in texts. There were many forms of boundaries, and exits could be arranged based on the level of the boundary and one’s needs. However, given his current strength, it was impossible for him to break free; all he could do was keep trying. More critically, over these days, he had noticed that his Divine Sea seemed to be restrained; any skills related to it were unusable, including the most basic sensing abilities.
“There shouldn’t be any danger, right?” Gazing at the boundless ocean, Mo Wen felt uncertain. To venture into this red sea would require crossing it, but now he was completely bare and could only swim. For days here, it seemed there were no living beings apart from himself; the surface of the sea remained calm, so crossing it should pose no danger. Slowly stepping into the red water, his movements didn’t even create a ripple. The water rose above his head; under the surface, Mo Wen opened his eyes and found he could see far into the depths without any hindrance to his vision. He began swimming boldly in the sea, completing a lap before returning to shore. Confirming that being in the water felt just like being on the beach eased his mind completely. However, before leaving, he wanted to fully enjoy this fine soft sand.
Mo Wen felt like a fish gliding through the red ocean. The gentle water felt ethereal—untouchable yet cradling his body. Looking down, he could see everything on the seabed—the endless expanse of white sand enveloped him like a fetus in its mother’s womb. Releasing all constraints and opening his mind, Mo Wen immersed himself in the warm water. Since beginning his training, he had lived under constant pressure; his lineage and thirst for strength pushed him forward relentlessly. Entering this forbidden realm turned dream into reality had dealt him a heavy blow. Now he cast everything aside and gradually forgot why he had entered the sea. His speed slowed down until he finally closed his eyes and let the water buoy him up and down.
Suddenly, a wave of coolness washed over him, snapping him back to reality as he opened his eyes wide with a frown. Just moments ago, he had felt that chill sweep over him, but now it vanished without a trace. Shaking his head, he continued swimming forward.
“Boom!” A loud sound erupted from deep within the red ocean, followed by water rushing toward where the noise originated. He began to struggle fiercely against being swept away; that sound could very well bring danger. Yet still, he found himself being carried by the water toward that direction—and noticed that the water level was dropping.
