The speed of the sea's flow gradually decreased as Mo Wen emerged from the water, looking into the distance. "An island!" After swimming for so long, he finally spotted land. It was a small island, and there was a tree on it. Without taking the time to examine it closely, he swam vigorously toward the island. At that moment, the sky began to gather red clouds, which clustered together, accompanied by rumbling thunder. He needed to reach the island before the storm arrived; even if he couldn't land, he had to get as close as possible.
The red clouds in the sky continued to accumulate, transforming from red rain clouds into black ones. Red lightning flashed within them, accompanied by increasingly dense thunder. Soon, red raindrops began to fall from the sky.
"Finally safe!" Mo Wen exclaimed as he climbed onto the island and ran toward the tree.
"What a marvelous tree!" he said in awe, standing beneath it. Compared to the island, this tree appeared small at first glance, but as he approached, he realized it was a colossal tree with a trunk as thick as a hundred feet. Strangely, it had only a few leaves—thick and sturdy—through which he could see large veins when looking up from below. The tree itself was a deep red color, and even its leaves shared this hue.
The red clouds above continued to gather, and rain droplets the size of bowls fell onto the great tree with a crackling sound. However, all these raindrops were absorbed by the tree. Seeing this, Mo Wen instinctively took a few steps back, maintaining a distance from the trunk. This giant tree was truly extraordinary; if he had seen such a tree elsewhere, he would have certainly believed it to be a Chimera. Here, however, he felt nothing but wonder and couldn't understand why he thought that way—perhaps it was because he sensed no danger from this tree.
The heavy red rain fell for nine whole days. As the red clouds in the sky gradually dissipated, an extraordinary sight appeared: Sun and Moon in the Same Sky. The water level of the red ocean rose significantly due to the rainwater influx; by his estimation, it was even deeper than before.
"Crack! Crack!" The sound from the great tree interrupted Mo Wen's thoughts. He looked up at the leaves above him in astonishment; the great tree was sprouting new leaves at an observable rate. They grew and unfurled until they matched the size of the previous ones before stopping. In less than an hour, there were already nine leaves on the great tree. Moreover, its trunk had thickened and grown taller considerably. Beneath the lowest leaf, there was a bulge that seemed to indicate new branches were about to sprout from there.
"Even if I can't take anything with me, I have to climb up and take a look." Resolute in his decision, he approached the trunk to climb the tree. However, as soon as his feet left the ground, he fell back down and felt everything spinning around him; his vision gradually blurred.
…
On a bed in an inn, Mo Wen opened his eyes to see Xiao Hei's head close to him. Had something happened while he was asleep? This was an inn where even minor movements would attract attention. Mo Wen turned over and got out of bed, looking at Xiao Hei with urgency. "What happened?"
"You've been asleep for half a month! You’ve really starved this Divine Beast," Xiao Hei replied irritably. When they entered that realm earlier, their leader had promised him ten hearty meals; yet upon returning and saying just a few words, their leader fell asleep immediately.
"Nothing happened while I was asleep?" Mo Wen frowned. He had experienced a dream; according to past patterns, there should have been something unusual about it.
