"See if there's anything else, bring it all up." It was unusual for someone to appear in this large pit, but Wang Chi was more concerned about whether he would find the treasure he hoped for. However, after circling the pit earlier, he already had a good idea that aside from the person mentioned by Long Xiao Wu, there was nothing else in the pit.

"He Er Gou!" Wang Chi looked at Mo Wen lying on the ground. There was no mistaking that face; it was indeed the He Er Gou he had lost track of. He tore off the clothes wrapped around Mo Wen to wipe the blood from his hands and tossed the garments onto Long Xiao Wu's corpse. Dousing it with beast oil, he kicked the body along with the clothes into the pit, sealing off the meridians. He took out his own clothes and wrapped the unconscious Mo Wen tightly. "If you weren't the person Xiang Guo is looking for, I would really want to cut you open and see what’s inside you." He tossed a torch into the pit and hoisted Mo Wen onto his shoulder, disappearing into the wilderness.
As Wang Chi carried Mo Wen toward Cold Ice City, Gong Shangnan was also making his way to where Mo Wen was undergoing tribulation. The intense aura emanating from outside Cold Ice City compelled him to investigate, even if he didn't want to. If that esteemed person inquired later, he needed to have something to report. As for treasure, it was unlikely; treasures usually had signs before they manifested, and such an unexpected situation could only mean something ominous. However, Gong Shangnan had only advanced halfway when he turned back; he had lost track of that aura.
"Brother, you still made a move," said one of them as they continued playing chess in the courtyard.
"I just don't want anyone thinking there’s treasure nearby, lest it disturbs our peace," replied his senior brother. Hearing this, the junior could only shake his head; his senior brother had a kind heart. If it weren't for their rules restraining him, he would have likely descended the mountain by now.

"Are you sure he is He Er Gou?" Gong Shangnan asked as he looked at Wang Chi kneeling on the ground and then scrutinized Mo Wen lying beside him—the so-called He Er Gou claimed by Wang Chi. Many of his disciples had claimed to find He Er Gou recently, leading him to make several unnecessary trips.
"Reporting to you, my lord, I can confirm it. I have been following him for over a month now; Long Xiao Wu was killed by him," Wang Chi replied while kneeling with his head lowered.
"Old Man, it seems this kid's realm should be higher than yours. How did you capture him?" Gong Shangnan continued observing Mo Wen. The face bore some resemblance to the portrait sent by the young master, but without eyebrows or hair, it was hard to identify. As for Mo Wen's realm, Gong Shangnan couldn't discern it; he could only infer based on information provided by the young master.
"It seems this fellow encountered a mishap during cultivation. A few days ago, I followed him and Long Xiao Wu out of the city. Once outside, he discovered us during a fight and killed Long Xiao Wu. I struggled with him fiercely; just when I thought I would perish under his sword, he suddenly fell ill and burst into flames, ending up like this." This was Wang Chi's crafted response to deal with Gong Shangnan; he couldn't mention the large pit because Long Xiao Wu's corpse was still inside. If Prime Minister were to arrive at the scene, he would surely notice something amiss.
"Did no one come to rescue him?"
"No one. Until I brought him back, no one seemed to be following me. Besides, I took a secret path; please rest assured, my lord."
"Alright, regardless of how you captured this person, Old Man will certainly reward you." Upon hearing Gong Shangnan's words, Wang Chi felt a surge of joy; although he wasn't entirely satisfied with his excuse, it seemed Gong Shangnan did not intend to pursue it further. Most importantly, Prime Minister confirmed that this person was indeed He Er Gou. Now all that remained was to receive his reward. Just as he prepared to bow in gratitude, he heard Gong Shangnan's cold voice: "Your reward is death!"
