In stark contrast to the bustling and vibrant atmosphere of the Old Nine Workshop and the Qian Workshop, most of the residents in Kun Zi Fang are impoverished. They are either ordinary people without any skills or those who have failed in their cultivation. Seeking refuge from the harsh cold outside the city, they crowd into the city. A saying circulates among them: "In Cold Ice City, the cold ice divides into four regions. The prince of the imperial city shines like a star, while the officials and noble persons of Qian Cheng reside in comfort. Outside the old city, Kun City is filled with the unfortunate." This rhyme succinctly captures the demographic distribution across the four areas of Cold Ice City. 0

Cold Ice City has four gates, and Kun Zi Fang is located in the northern part, near the North Gate. Beyond this gate lies an expansive desert; aside from the occasional merchant caravan that crosses it annually, no one dares to enter. Moreover, since most residents of Kun Zi Fang are considered lowly commoners, even at the heart of the Empire, the North Gate of Cold Ice City remains perpetually open and unguarded. Close to this gate is Kun Jiu Fang, where a beggar has recently been abandoned. This scenario is all too familiar for those living here; it is common for people to be discarded after being beaten half to death by others, left to fend for themselves. 0

"Tsk tsk! So young! They really went hard on him!" As a beast cart pulled away, a few ragged beggars emerged from a dark corner. Spotting the abandoned figure—a young man who seemed more like a child compared to them—they began rummaging through his belongings but found nothing of value. One beggar noticed the boy's clothes and expertly stripped them off him. However, upon glancing back at the unconscious youth, he shook his head and took off his own tattered garment to cover him before turning to leave. 0

Mo Wen opened his eyes and surveyed his surroundings. He noticed a disheveled person nearby wearing clothes identical to his own. His original garments had been burned away during his tribulation, leaving him clad only in a cloak that belonged to someone else. Mo Wen frowned as he looked down at himself and quickly realized that this person was wearing his clothes while he was left with filthy rags. 0

"Ha! Looks like I've been thoroughly ruined—like a living corpse!" The intense pain coursing through his body pulled Mo Wen's attention away from his attire. He attempted to move but felt nothing but pain; even trying to speak or turn his head proved impossible. When he raised his eyes again to look at the person in his clothes, that individual seemed to sense Mo Wen's gaze and turned to face him. 0

"Ah! Well, since I'm wearing your clothes, I might as well take care of you one last time!" The beggar shook his head and bent down to drag Mo Wen toward a pile of hay. As pain surged through him, beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, and darkness enveloped him once more as he lost consciousness. 0

When Mo Wen awoke again, he saw a familiar figure. He opened his mouth but could not produce any sound. 0

"Boss! What happened to you?" Seeing Mo Wen awake, Xiao Hei immediately stood up. "What happened to your skills? They're all gone! You’re hurt all over." Xiao Hei was anxious; was this what happened after a tribulation? How had their boss made it from the wasteland to here? "Boss, did you run into trouble? It's all my fault!" Receiving no response from Mo Wen through their mental connection only heightened Xiao Hei's worry as he emitted soft whimpering sounds. 0
