"I want money!" Old Jin stated bluntly, "650 yuan, not a penny less!"
"I've told you countless times, I have no money!" Wei Fan replied coldly, "Do whatever you want; I simply don't have any money to give you!"
"No money?" Old Jin sneered, "I don't care. You can steal or rob for it; you just need to get that money for me."
"You must be out of your mind thinking about money. There's no money here, but there's a life at stake," Wei Fan retorted defiantly.
"You hit me, so you owe me compensation!" Old Jin's voice grew louder. "If you don't pay today, I won't leave!"
With that, she plopped down in the living room of Wei Fan's house, ready for a long standoff.
Wei Fan didn't expect this old woman to be so difficult. Anger boiled within him: "You think you can just stay here? Fine, let's see who can outlast whom!"
Old Jin refused to back down. "Alright! I'll stay here all day!"
The two of them were locked in a stalemate.
Wei Fan returned inside and slammed the door shut with a bang. Old Jin sat in the living room and began her tirade.
Old Jin pounded the table and shouted, "People should have a conscience! You hit someone and refuse to pay—where's the law in that?"
Wei Fan felt irritated listening from inside and covered his ears, but he couldn't block out the old woman's shouts.
"You think hiding in there will save you?" Old Jin grew more animated as she continued her rant. "Let me tell you, if you don't pay today, I'm staying right here!"
As the sky gradually darkened, Old Jin continued her relentless shouting.
Wei Fan could no longer bear it and pushed open the door. "What do you want from me?"
"Money!" Old Jin declared firmly.
"I have no money!" Wei Fan shouted back.
"No money, huh?" Old Jin suddenly stood up and walked toward the kitchen. "Then let me show you what happens!"
She entered the kitchen and saw a pot of pig feed on the stove. Without hesitation, she grabbed it and poured it all over the floor.
Thick pig feed splattered everywhere, turning the kitchen into a complete mess.
"What are you doing?" Wei Fan rushed over to stop her.
Old Jin continued pouring while scolding him, "This is what happens when you bully an old person!"
After emptying the pot, she noticed a urine bucket in the corner.
"No!" Wei Fan realized what she was about to do and rushed forward to stop her.
But Old Jin was quick, grabbing the urine bucket and splashing it onto Wei Fan's bed. The yellow liquid splattered everywhere, soaking the sheets and blankets, filling the room with a nauseating stench.
"You've gone mad!" Wei Fan was furious, "You crazy old woman!"
"Yes! I am crazy!" Old Jin threw the bucket aside and pointed at Wei Fan, cursing loudly, "Aren't you capable? Aren't you tough? Come on!"
Wei Fan looked at the mess in the room, trembling with rage. He wanted to retaliate, but she was just an old lady, and he hesitated to actually strike her.
"Get out of here!" Wei Fan pointed to the door.
"I won't leave!" Old Jin sat on the damp chair defiantly, "I won't leave until you pay me!"
With no other choice, Wei Fan had to swallow his anger and start cleaning up. But the smell of pig feed and urine was overwhelming; it was impossible to stay there.
Fuming, Wei Fan said, "Stay here as long as you want!" He gathered some clothes for a change and prepared to spend the night in the old house next door. That was the house left by his parents, now occupied by his brother Mu Fan's family.
"You can't escape!" Old Jin shouted behind him, "I'll be back tomorrow! Every day! Until you pay up!"
Wei Fan walked away without looking back.
