"Where is this...?"
Su Wan'er’s voice was weak; she felt utterly drained, as if all her strength had been siphoned away.
"My home."
Toad Spirit handed Su Wan'er a steaming bowl of medicinal soup. "You were injured, and I brought you back."
"Thank you..."
Su Wan'er took the bowl and gently sipped, a bitter taste spreading across her tongue.
"No need to thank me."
Toad Spirit smiled warmly, "It was just a small effort."
As Su Wan'er looked at Toad Spirit's simple smile, a wave of warmth surged in her heart.
She was originally a demon, long accustomed to the greed and ugliness of humanity, yet she never expected to encounter such kindness in her moment of weakness.
