On a scorching summer day, Yue Lin and Meng Yi were huddled together in a room, enjoying the cool air conditioning while exchanging thoughts on the novels and comics they had just rented from the store. 0

"Ugh, I really envy those protagonists who can travel to another world!" Yue Lin suddenly exclaimed. "To be able to restart and create a beautiful new life, or to have incredible powers and become someone admired and adored by everyone—how wonderful that would be!" She gazed longingly at the book in her hands, unable to suppress a sigh. 0

"Pfft! If you were to reincarnate as 486 from Re:Zero, you definitely wouldn’t feel that way. You’d just keep dying over and over until you felt utterly hopeless," Meng Yi teased with a laugh. 0

"Come on, that guy is an extreme exception! Don’t use him as an example on purpose!" Yue Lin rolled her eyes immediately. "There are so many stories about traveling to other worlds, yet you always pick him out to criticize!" 0

"That so-called exception is also a warning. It shows you that not every fantasy world is infinitely wonderful; more often than not, there are unforeseen dangers lurking," Meng Yi shrugged with a smile. 0

"True as that may be, those fantasies still make people yearn for them, don’t they?" 0

"Yeah, definitely! It’s an escape from the struggles of reality!" Meng Yi nodded in agreement. "So, if you could choose any world to go to, which one would it be?" 0

"Hmm, let me think..." Yue Lin pondered for a while. "This is really tough... But rather than traveling to an unknown world, I would prefer to enter a book! I could see my favorite characters in person and even have the chance to change their tragic endings. If I'm lucky, I might even fall in love with my favorite character!" 0

"Heh, you and your daydreams," Meng Yi chuckled mischievously. 0

"What? Do you have a problem with that?" Yue Lin shot her a sideways glance. 0

"I mean, isn’t it the same as just imagining things while reading about them in the book?" 0

"No, no, no! That’s completely different! A real person standing in front of you who can interact and talk with you is worlds apart from just seeing a flat character on a page!" Yue Lin argued passionately. 0

"I actually think that the interactions imagined by oneself would be hundreds of times better than those with real people. After all, any issues can be corrected at any time according to one's own wishes. But if one were to actually cross over into that world, once trouble arises, regretting it would be useless," Meng Yi said dismissively. 0

"Well... that's true, but I still really hope to experience a life within a book!" Yue Lin sighed as she flipped through the comic in her hands. "Is there really a way to cross into a book?" 0

"Heh, you might as well just dream about it!" Meng Yi retorted. 0

"Ah, I guess I can only rely on dreaming..." Yue Lin said helplessly as she turned the pages. "If only these fantasies could smoothly enter my dreams..." 0

Meng Yi seemed to have thought of something and suddenly snapped her fingers. "Speaking of which, although it's not related to crossing into books, do you know about Lucid Dreaming?" 0

"Oh, I think I've seen some videos about that on YouTube. What's up?" Yue Lin asked curiously. 0

"I heard that in Lucid Dreaming, you can control everything in your dreams with your self-awareness. So if you add your own fantasies into the mix, isn't it just like crossing into another world?" 0

"Oh? That seems reasonable!" Yue Lin's eyes brightened, but then she pouted. "But Lucid Dreaming isn't something you can just do anytime! Besides, if I don't dream about the characters from the book, it won't matter! My dreams usually consist of fragmented daily life or bizarre scenes; they don't have any meaning at all!" 0

"It's simple! In situations like this, all you need is some self-suggestion." 0

"Self-suggestion?" 0

"Isn't it said that what you think about during the day will appear in your dreams at night? Just read through the content of the book before going to sleep, then place the book under your pillow. As you close your eyes and fall asleep, keep imagining what that person looks like or the scenes from the book. If you fill your mind with those thoughts, there's at least a good chance you'll dream about it," Meng Yi explained. 0

"Oh wow, that sounds interesting! I'll give it a try tonight!" 0

Yue Lin rubbed his hands together in excitement, eager for night to fall. 0
