Yue Lin and Meng Yi were classmates, neighbors, and childhood friends who had grown up together. 0

They shared a common interest: anime and novels. Their enthusiasm and obsession with these hobbies even led their classmates to jokingly refer to them as anime nerds. 0

The comic rental shop was their sanctuary, a place they visited regularly to indulge in their passion. Whenever they stumbled upon a new work that caught their eye and captivated their hearts, they would eagerly share it with each other. 0

"Hey, did you try it last night? How did it go?" Meng Yi asked as she approached Yue Lin's desk after class. 0

"Ugh, it was useless. I didn't dream about anything," Yue Lin replied dejectedly, glancing at her sideways. "I guess it's not as easy as I imagined..." 0

"Well, after hearing you say that yesterday, I suddenly had an idea..." Meng Yi said, turning around in her seat to face Yue Lin. "Summer vacation is coming up, and there's that free research project for homework, right? Why don't we make our theme about this?" 0

"What theme?" Yue Lin looked at her in confusion, clearly missing the point. 0

"About whether we can travel to another world through dreams!" Meng Yi explained excitedly. "Don't you want to experience being in a story? I believe dreams are actually a connection to another world. I'll design the verification methods, and you can be the test subject. How does that sound?" 0

Yue Lin couldn't help but feel astonished. 0

"...Are you sure your imagination isn't running wild? Do you think the teacher will accept this?" 0

"As long as we can produce decent research records that prove we're serious and not just making things up, the teacher won't care! After all, it's a free research project!" 0

"Mm." Yue Lin nodded in understanding. 0

"But compared to the completely unknown otherworld, I believe that the so-called world within books is actually a much easier and worthwhile existence to explore." 0

"Is it because there is already a tangible 'book' as a basis?" 0

"No, it's 'works,'" Meng Yi corrected. "After all, stories are conceived and crafted from human thoughts. However, most of the stories circulating in society appear fragmented and chaotic; only a few manage to maintain a complete structure and worldview, even captivating readers. Why do you think that is?" 0

"Because of the author's dedication?" 0

"Yes, that's one reason. But I believe the real reason is that those authors depict worlds that genuinely exist in another space," Meng Yi said earnestly. "In essence, it's that those authors' inspirations unknowingly resonate with the worlds where those stories exist, triggering a connection that allows them to record it." 0

"So… you mean you believe that the worlds in those books truly exist?" 0
