"About that ring of yours... the one that isn't your first."
Su Yu's words struck me like a thunderclap, freezing the blood in my veins.
That ring was a token of love between Su Yan and me, a symbol of my insecurities and struggles.
How could she know?
Seeing my frozen expression, Su Yu's enchanting eyes sparkled with a triumphant glint, and a cold smile curled at the corners of her lips.
"Hao Ran Brother, it seems you have many secrets you're hiding from me."
Her voice was soft, yet laced with an undeniable mockery.
I suppressed the shock within me and feigned calmness as I asked, "What exactly do you want to say?"
Su Yu didn’t answer; she merely leaned in closer, her graceful body pressing against mine, her warm breath brushing against my ear.
"Don't be in such a hurry; the show has just begun," she chuckled lightly, her gaze as cold as a poisoned blade.
At that moment, the study door was suddenly pushed open, and Su Yan stood at the entrance, her face pale and her eyes filled with a complex mix of emotions as she looked at us.
Her appearance instantly shattered the eerie calm between Su Yu and me.
"Su Yu, what trick are you trying to play this time?" Su Yan's voice trembled slightly, but it couldn't hide her anger.
Hearing this, Su Yu leisurely straightened up, turned to face Su Yan, and a provocative smile appeared on her lips.
" Sister, long time no see." Her tone was gentle, yet filled with an undercurrent of sharpness.
Su Yan ignored Su Yu's provocation and walked straight up to me, her gaze complex as she looked at me.
"Hao Ran, I have something to say to you." Her voice was slightly hoarse, carrying a hint of an unnoticeable plea.
I looked at Su Yan, my heart a mix of emotions; she had once been the person I loved most, yet now she felt so foreign.
Su Yu let out a cold laugh and stepped forward, positioning herself between me and Su Yan.
"Sister, is there something you can't say in front of me?" Her tone was mocking, brimming with challenge.
Su Yan glared at Su Yu in anger, her eyes blazing with fury.
"Su Yu, don't go too far!"
"Am I going too far?" Su Yu raised an eyebrow, her eyes filled with disdain. "Do you think I don't know about the things you've done?"
Su Yan's face instantly turned even paler as she clenched her fists tightly, her nails nearly digging into her flesh.
"W-what are you talking about?"
"What am I talking about?" Su Yu scoffed, pulling a photo from her pocket. The picture clearly showed me and Su Yan in an intimate pose at a bar.
"This photo—does it look familiar, sister?" Su Yu tossed the picture in front of Su Yan, her tone dripping with triumph.
Su Yan stared at the photo, her body trembling violently as despair filled her eyes.
I felt a jolt in my heart as I looked at the photo, and everything that had happened that night in the bar flashed through my mind in an instant.
The uncontrollable drunkenness, the tangled emotions—everything became so clear.
I gazed at Su Yan's pale face, a wave of indescribable pain surged within me. She had once been the love of my life, but now she was deeply mired in a quagmire.
"This is just the beginning, sister," Su Yu's voice slithered into Su Yan's ear like a venomous snake. "Do you think I don't know why you seduced Hao Ran Brother?"
Su Yan suddenly lifted her head, her eyes filled with shock and anger.
"You... you were watching me?"
"Watching?" Su Yu scoffed. "I was merely protecting my own interests."
She walked over to me, linking her arm with mine and leaning against me seductively.
"Hao Ran Brother, she only wants to use you; she doesn't love you at all."
I looked at Su Yu's hypocritical smile, and a chill ran through me. Her cunning and depth were far beyond what I had imagined.
At that moment, I heard a faint sound from the study window. I turned my head sharply to see a shadow flash by.
It was Duan Kai!
He had indeed come.
He slipped in silently, like a predatory beast waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
The alarm bells in my heart rang loudly. What did he intend to do?
Su Yu seemed oblivious to the unusual happenings outside, proudly gazing at Su Yan, her tone filled with the demeanor of a victor.
"Sister, do you really think you can still control everything like before?"
Su Yan's body swayed precariously as she looked at Su Yu, her eyes filled with despair and unwillingness.
"Su Yu, don't forget, we are sisters!"
"Sisters?" Su Yu laughed sharply, her voice piercing and harsh. "What are sisters in the face of money and interests?"
Her laughter was laced with sarcasm and mockery, as if declaring her victory.
I watched the two women before me—one once loved, the other now scheming—my heart a whirlwind of confusion.
The warmth they once brought me and the cruelty of betrayal surged within me like a tidal wave, threatening to drown me completely.
Images from the past flashed through my mind: Su Yan's gentle smile, Su Yu's enchanting gaze—everything felt so real yet so illusory.
The intense emotional tug-of-war left me breathless; I felt trapped in an invisible cage, unable to break free.
Seeing the pain etched on my face, a glimmer of triumph flickered in Su Yu's eyes. She knew her goal had been achieved.
"Hao Ran Brother, look, your sister doesn’t care about you at all; she only cares about her own interests," Su Yu's voice was as sweet as poison, trying to pull me deeper into her abyss.
Just as I sank into confusion, a sudden movement outside caught my attention—a shadow silently slipped into the study.
Duan Kai held a miniature recording device in his hand, his gaze cold and menacing as he looked at us.
He intended to record everything, using it as evidence to sow discord between me and my sisters in the future.
"Hao Ran Brother, I advise you to face reality," Su Yu's voice rang out again, carrying a hint of a victor's tone.
I abruptly lifted my head, glancing at Su Yu and then at Su Yan. Their faces were etched with desire and calculation.
At that moment, my heart turned to ice.
Yet, amidst the overwhelming pain and despair, a fierce determination suddenly ignited within me—a refusal to give up.
I could no longer allow them to toy with me like this.
I raised my head, fixing my sharp gaze on the two women, and spoke each word clearly: "Do you think you've won?"
Su Yu and Su Yan's expressions froze instantly. They stared at me, their eyes filled with shock and confusion.
I took a deep breath, silently vowing that this game had only just begun.
