"So I ask, does this really make any sense?"
Nestled in their room after finishing the latest batch of rented comics, Yue Lin lazily stretched and then turned to her friend with a puzzled expression. "By the way, tomorrow is the graduation ceremony. Have you figured out what you're going to do?"
"Well, that's something you need to answer..." Meng Yi thoughtfully flipped through the dream exchange diary they had been keeping for the past week. "Do you still want to continue?"
"Huh? Why? Are you having second thoughts?" Yue Lin exclaimed, her eyes widening in surprise. "Or are you just unsure about what to do?"
"No, I'm just confirming your final intention," Meng Yi replied, looking directly at her. "Are you ready to proceed with the testing?"
"Of course, I'm ready for anything," Yue Lin said playfully, saluting dramatically. "But seriously, I still find this dream diary quite a hassle... Can I skip writing it?"
"Absolutely not! This dream diary is our ultimate backup for whether we can submit our assignment or not. Have you forgotten?" Meng Yi immediately dismissed the suggestion.
"Ugh, you're right... So aside from that, does it have any other real significance?" Yue Lin couldn't help but ask.
"Well, I believe it can serve as evidence of the changes during our observational experiment," Meng Yi said as she opened Yue Lin's diary. "Look, with some time spent training, dreams can gradually transform from chaotic fragments into coherent narratives. That's a good start."
"That's just because we're getting used to keeping records, so we can remember what dreams we had more clearly," Yue Lin replied dismissively as she glanced at her dream diary.
"No, being able to start recognizing the existence of dreams themselves is a sign of progress," Meng Yi insisted.
"So what's next?"
"Well... anyway, I'll organize my thoughts tonight, and after the graduation ceremony tomorrow, when the vacation starts, we'll officially get started!"

"Summer vacation is here—"
As soon as the ceremony ended, the students, who had been bound by rules, suddenly burst forth like wild horses, eagerly leaving the school to enjoy their break.
"Hey, do you guys have any plans for where to go during summer vacation? My parents are taking me to Korea; maybe I'll get a chance to meet my dream handsome oppa and have a romantic encounter like in an idol drama!"
The sudden question caught Yue Lin and Meng Yi off guard, leaving them speechless as they exchanged glances.
Then, Yue Lin resolutely turned to her friend and gave her a thumbs up. "What else is there to ask? Of course, I choose to go straight into my dreams to meet my beloved!"
Upon hearing this, her friend couldn't help but roll her eyes.
"Ahh... I forgot! You two anime nerds will probably just waste your time buried in piles of comics or huddled in front of the TV watching anime! Sigh, there's no saving you..." As she turned to leave, she muttered, "Honestly, I don't understand what’s so great about those fictional characters..."
Yue Lin couldn't help but stick out her tongue and make a face at her back.
"Please! Any random handsome guy from the two-dimensional world could easily outshine your so-called oppa!"
"Alright, she has her preferences, and we have our interests. There's no need for that pointless comparison." Meng Yi patted her shoulder. "Come on, let's return the books first and then head home to start our plan."
"Oh yeah!" Yue Lin exclaimed joyfully, jumping up in celebration.
