At first, Han Han felt that her teacher cared deeply for his students, and she was somewhat touched by it. However, as Guo Chunniu's messages became more frequent and personal, she began to feel uncomfortable.
One afternoon in early April, Guo Chunniu invited Han Han to a café outside of school to "discuss academic issues." In the dim light, the 48-year-old man finally revealed what had been weighing on his heart:
"Han Han, I believe our relationship is more than just that of a teacher and student. I have special feelings for you."
Han Han was taken aback, nearly dropping her coffee cup. "Teacher, what... what are you saying?"
"I know this is sudden, but I can't control my feelings. You have given my life new meaning," Guo Chunniu said, his eyes filled with an almost mad obsession.
Panicking, Han Han stood up. "Teacher, I think you’ve misunderstood something. I am just your student; we shouldn’t have any other kind of relationship."
"Why not? Age is not an issue, nor is status. As long as we love each other..."
"I don't have those feelings!" Han Han nearly shouted, causing other patrons in the café to glance over.
But Guo Chunniu could no longer hear her. In his view, Han Han's rejection was merely the shyness of a girl; deep down, she must have feelings for him too.
In the end, Han Han hurriedly fled the café, leaving Guo Chunniu sitting alone at the table.
