After the mediation agreement was signed, Guo Chunniu outwardly adhered to the terms, but inside, his anger churned like molten lava.
"How dare she reject me? How dare she humiliate me like this?"
Guo Chunniu still fantasized that Han Han would reach out to him. He believed that without his love, this 19-year-old girl would surely regret her decision. Every day, he waited by his phone, hoping to see that familiar profile picture light up. But it never did. Han Han had completely vanished from his world.
"She must be testing my patience," Guo Chunniu told the haggard reflection in the mirror. "Girls are always contradictory; she must still be thinking of me."
Eventually, Guo Chunniu began to follow her. He bought a pair of binoculars and hid in a small grove across from the dormitory to spy on her.
"She looks thinner," Guo Chunniu thought to himself. "It must be because she can't eat without me."
Soon, Guo Chunniu noticed that Han Han had grown close to a male classmate. He saw her walking out of the library with a tall, slender boy, both laughing and looking happy together.
"No way!" Guo Chunniu clenched his fists. "How could she betray me like this?"
Han Han's relationship with that boy became increasingly intimate. They ate together, attended classes together, and even went to the movies together.
"This little traitor!" Guo Chunniu roared in his room. "She would rather be with some punk than be with me!"
The flames of jealousy completely consumed what little sanity Guo Chunniu had left. One night in mid-July, he sat in front of his computer and opened the Taobao website. His fingers trembled on the keyboard as he typed a few words: "outdoor knives."
Various images of knives appeared on the screen. Guo Chunniu's eyes fixated on a product labeled "dagger."
"If I can't have her, then I'll destroy her," Guo Chunniu's voice echoed eerily in the empty room. "Let her know the consequences of rejecting me."
"I want her to regret it!" Guo Chunniu gritted his teeth as he stared at the computer screen. "I want everyone to know the consequences of rejecting me!"
"This is what you forced me to do."
On the evening of August 18, Guo Chunniu sat on the edge of his bed, gripping a dagger in his hand. His gaze was filled with a near-mad obsession.
"Tomorrow," he said to the blade, "tomorrow is the day of final judgment."
In his mind's eye, Han Han would beg for mercy, cry, and regret her choices. But it would all be too late.
"I gave you a chance," Guo Chunniu murmured to himself. "You didn't cherish it."
From teacher to murderer, he was just one step away.

The campus of Anhui University of Technology was still bathed in sunlight, with students attending classes as usual. Han Han sat in the classroom, diligently taking notes. She thought that after signing the mediation agreement, her nightmare had come to an end.
In the past two months, Guo Chunniu had not contacted her again, and she could finally focus on her studies without worry.
Meanwhile, Guo Chunniu stood quietly outside the teaching building, dressed in a black coat with the dagger hidden at his waist. His eyes were hollow and cold, like a beast waiting for its prey.
"Today is the day of judgment," he silently told himself.
At 3:40 PM, the class bell rang. Han Han packed her bag and walked out of the classroom with her classmates. She planned to head to the library to continue reviewing for the upcoming final exams.
