Nangong Shuang took the handkerchief and nodded appreciatively, "You are quite thoughtful." Just then, a maid announced from outside that Lord Guo requested Sister Shuang to come over for an important discussion.
Nangong Shuang exchanged a glance with Xiao Cha, both sensing the alertness in each other's eyes. With the banquet about to begin, Lord Guo's sudden summons was certainly suspicious.
"Stay here for now. If I haven't returned within an hour, proceed according to plan," Nangong Shuang whispered, then adjusted her attire and followed the maid out.

"Please go ahead," Nangong Shuang replied as she sat down, secretly on guard.
Lord Guo set down his teacup, his expression growing serious. "Recently, news has circulated within the palace that the Crown Prince is quite concerned about the Nangong Family Case and has ordered a re-investigation into it. As a high-ranking official in court, I am naturally implicated as well."
Nangong Shuang's heart sank, but she forced herself to remain calm. "The Nangong Family Case? Is that the incident involving the medical family accused of rebellion ten years ago?"
"Exactly," Lord Guo confirmed with a nod. "This case is fraught with doubts; there was insufficient evidence back then, yet it was hastily concluded. It is indeed suspicious. Now that the Crown Prince intends to thoroughly investigate it, perhaps we can restore justice for the Nangong Family."
A storm surged within Nangong Shuang's heart, but her face betrayed nothing. "Why would you inform me of such court matters?"
Lord Guo looked at her meaningfully. "Your medical skills are remarkable and your techniques unique; they bear a striking resemblance to those of the legendary Nangong Family. I cannot help but wonder if you have any connections to them."
This question struck at the core of her concerns, and alarms rang in her mind. Yet she had prepared for this moment and replied unhurriedly, "In response to your question, I learned from an old physician who lives in seclusion in the mountains. He once mentioned that he received true teachings from the Nangong Family in his youth. If my medical skills reflect those of the Nangong Family, it must be because I inherited my master's legacy."
Lord Guo nodded thoughtfully. "I see. Has your master ever mentioned the Nangong Family's Heavenly Fragrance Life-Extending Technique?"

As he spoke, he handed Nangong Shuang a cup of tea and smiled kindly. "At today's banquet, members of the Xiao Family will be present; they also have some ties to the Nangong Family. If you are interested, you might engage them in conversation; perhaps you could gather some clues."

Lord Guo seemed satisfied with this answer and nodded slightly without pressing further. He then reminded her of some etiquette for the banquet before allowing her to leave.
