As Xiao Cui handed the teacup to Guan Chunyi, Nangong Shuang quickly stepped forward, pretending to trip and bump into Xiao Cui. The tea tray tilted, and tea splashed everywhere!
"Ah!" Xiao Cui exclaimed, quickly stabilizing herself, but the teacup had already fallen to the ground, shattering into pieces.
"I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!" Nangong Shuang hurriedly apologized, feigning assistance in cleaning up while secretly taking a small porcelain vial from her sleeve and sprinkling the powder inside onto the spilled tea.
As the powder met the tea, it immediately turned a faint purple, confirming her suspicion: the tea was indeed poisoned!
"Xiao Cui, what happened?" Guan Chunyi asked in surprise.
Nangong Shuang quickly stood up, her expression serious. "Miss, this tea is poisoned!"
At this declaration, the room erupted in chaos! Lord Guo and Madam Guo rushed forward to inquire. Nangong Shuang pointed at the discolored tea on the ground and explained, "This tea contains components of 'Heartbreak Grass.' If ingested, it could lead to unconsciousness at best or death at worst! Fortunately, it was accidentally spilled just now; otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable."
Xiao Cui's face turned pale with fear as she hurriedly defended herself. "No... that’s impossible! I only brewed the tea according to custom; I added nothing!"
Lord Guo's expression darkened. "Then why did the tea change color? Nangong Shuang, what kind of poison is 'Heartbreak Grass'?"
Nangong Shuang explained, "Heartbreak Grass is a highly toxic herb that is colorless and tasteless, making it difficult to detect. However, it has a characteristic: when it comes into contact with specific reagents, it immediately turns purple. When I accidentally spilled the tea earlier, I happened to have this reagent in my sleeve, which revealed its presence."
Madam Guo looked at Xiao Cui in horror. "You... you dare poison in my household?! Guards, seize her!"
The guards immediately stepped forward and surrounded Xiao Cui. Seeing this, Xiao Cui's expression suddenly changed; a glint of malice flashed in her eyes. She swiftly drew a short sword from her waist and pointed it at Nangong Shuang. "Nan Gong Yu Nie, don’t try to deny it!"

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Guan Chunyi asked in shock. "Sister Shuang can't possibly be from the Nangong Family!"
Xiao Cui sneered. "Not only is she a descendant of the Nangong Family, but she also excels in their unique medical and poison techniques! I was ordered here today to capture this Nan Gong Yu Nie and eliminate a threat to our nation!"
With that, she suddenly lunged at Nangong Shuang, aiming for her throat with the short sword! But Nangong Shuang was prepared; she sidestepped and threw a pouch of powder from her sleeve right into Xiao Cui's face!
"Ah!" Xiao Cui screamed as she covered her face with her hands, dropping the sword. She staggered back a few steps when suddenly her belt loosened, revealing an Orchid Jade Pendant!
"The jade pendant of the Xiao Family!" someone exclaimed.
Xiao Zhongmo's face changed dramatically as he rushed forward to cover up. "This girl is speaking nonsense; she has nothing to do with my Xiao Family!"
But Nangong Shuang had already seen through it and publicly exposed them: "This jade pendant belongs exclusively to the direct line of the Xiao Family. Xiao Cui is an undercover agent sent by the Xiao Family to monitor me and find the Nangong Family's Plum Blossom Token!"
At these words, an uproar erupted in the banquet hall! Everyone turned their gaze toward the Xiao Family father and son with skepticism in their eyes. Xiao Xiang's face turned ashen while Xiao Zhongmo wore a dark expression; only Xiao Zhongyan maintained his calm smile.
