Just then, a voice called from outside. "Sister Shuang, where are you? We should head back!"

Inside the banquet hall, chaos erupted as people gathered around a suddenly collapsed noble guest, panic spreading among them. Nangong Shuang quickly assessed the man's symptoms: his complexion was purple, his lips blackened, breathing rapid and shallow, limbs convulsing—he had clearly been poisoned!
"What happened? Is there anyone who can save Lord Lu?" Xiao Xiang exclaimed anxiously as he paced among the crowd.
The noble guest known as Lord Lu was recognized by Nangong Shuang as Lu Jianming, a high-ranking official in court. His sudden poisoning at Xiao Mansion during a banquet was no coincidence!
"The imperial physician is on his way but will take another quarter of an hour to arrive," Xiao Zhongyan said gravely to his father.
Seeing the urgency of the situation, Nangong Shuang stepped forward without hesitation. "This man has been severely poisoned; if we delay any longer, he may lose his life. Please step aside; I will try."
"Just you, a mere medical girl?" Xiao Zhongmo scoffed derisively. "This is Lord Lu; if anything goes wrong, the Xiao Family cannot bear the consequences!"
As Lord Lu's condition worsened rapidly, Xiao Xiang insisted firmly, "Let Nangong Shuang give it a try! She has already demonstrated remarkable medical skills; perhaps she can save Lord Lu's life."
Xiao Zhongmo wanted to object further but was silenced by a look from Xiao Xiang. Without hesitation now, Nangong Shuang took out silver needles from her sleeve and swiftly punctured several key acupuncture points on Lord Lu's body.
"What is she doing?" a guest exclaimed in surprise.
"Sealing points to stop the poison," Nangong Shuang explained while continuing her work. "He has been poisoned with Purple Butterfly Poison; its toxicity is severe and directly attacks the heart. I will first use these silver needles to seal several critical points to slow down the spread of the toxin."
Upon hearing "Purple Butterfly Poison," everyone’s faces turned pale with fear. Although this poison was not widely known, it had a notorious reputation among the elite—colorless and odorless with lethal potency; those afflicted often perished within an hour.
"Purple Butterfly Poison?" Madam Xiao looked at Nangong Shuang in astonishment. "You recognize this poison? Truly impressive!"
Nangong Shuang did not respond but focused on her rescue efforts. She took out a small porcelain vial from her Medicine Pouch and poured out several milky-white pills.
"This is my formulated Reviving Powder; it can temporarily suppress the toxicity of Purple Butterfly Poison," she explained before crushing the pills into powder and carefully mixing them with water to feed to Lord Lu.
