"Please sit down and rest; I will administer acupuncture to alleviate your symptoms temporarily." Nangong Shuang helped Madam Xiao to a nearby chair and took out silver needles, gently inserting them into her temples and acupoints like Fengchi and Baihui.
At first, Madam Xiao felt a bit tense, but soon she sensed a warm current spreading from the acupoints; her headache gradually eased, and she felt much more relaxed.

As they were speaking, Xiao Zhongmo approached with a dark expression on his face. "Mother, you should really have the head physician from the Imperial Medical Bureau treat your illness instead. A country doctor like her probably can't handle this."
Madam Xiao shot an unhappy glance at her son. "Zhongmo, what are you saying! Nangong Shuang's medical skills are exceptional; she just saved Lord Lu’s life right before our eyes! How can you speak so disrespectfully?"
Xiao Zhongmo sneered coldly. "Saved Lord Lu? Who knows if this was all part of her own scheme?"
