At that moment, Fang Bo sent another message.
Fang Bo: "Honey, are you free tomorrow? Want to go watch a movie together this weekend?"
Shi Huiran: "Sure!"
Fang Bo: "Then I'll wait for you at the cinema entrance at eight in the morning."
Shi Huiran: "Okay."
The next day.
I got up early and dressed up, then excitedly headed to the cinema entrance to wait for Fang Bo.
However, after waiting for a while, Fang Bo still hadn't arrived.
I frowned and decided to call him.
After a few rings, the call finally connected.
"Hello?" A strange voice came from the other end of the line.
I was taken aback. "Who are you?"
There was a brief silence before the voice replied, "I'm Fang Bo's teammate."
"Oh... where is Fang Bo?" I asked, confused.
The person paused for a moment. "Sister-in-law, are you still at the cinema entrance?"
"Yes! What's wrong?" I asked, puzzled.
"You need to come to Gao Yu Building right away!" the voice said seriously.
I was taken aback. "What happened?"
The other party sighed, "Anyway, just come quickly!"
With that, he hung up the phone.
A wave of ominous premonition surged within me.
I hurriedly took a taxi to the Gao Yu Building.
Upon arrival, I was met with roaring flames and busy firefighters.
I scanned the crowd of bustling firefighters but couldn't find Fang Bo anywhere.
Just as I was feeling anxious, a firefighter suddenly called out to me.
"Sister-in-law?"
I was taken aback and looked at him, "I am..."
"Come with me!" He said, pulling me aside.
I looked down and noticed a set of firefighting gear on the ground.
Attached to it was a safety rope, the very one I had given to Fang Bo as a birthday gift!
A shiver ran through me as I incredulously asked, "Is this... Fang Bo's?"
After a long silence, the firefighter finally spoke, "Yes..."
I stiffly turned my head to look at him, "Where is he?"
After another pause, the firefighter replied, "He went in to save someone and hasn't come out yet."
"But don't worry, he will be fine!"
Hearing those words, a wave of despair washed over me.
Wasn't he fine?
How could he...
I knelt on the ground, crying uncontrollably.
In that moment, I felt like I was falling apart.
I had never imagined that one day I would lose him...
If only he hadn't been late this morning...
If only he hadn't gone in to save someone...
Just as I was engulfed in my pain, a familiar voice suddenly came from behind me.
“Shi Huiran!”
I froze for a moment and then turned to look.
In the next second, I saw a familiar figure standing in front of me!
It was Fang Bo!
“Wuwuwu...” I cried as I rushed towards him.
Fang Bo held me tightly and softly said,
“Silly girl, don’t cry.”
I sniffled a few times and then looked up at him. “Are you okay?”
Fang Bo curled his lips into a smile. "What could possibly be wrong with me?"
After a pause, he added, "Besides, I have a girl at home who loves me waiting for me! How could anything be wrong?"
I couldn't help but laugh through my tears. "You're such a tease."
Fang Bo smiled again and reached out to ruffle my hair.
I nestled against him, my gaze lingering on the wound on his face.
"Does it hurt?" I asked, feeling a pang of concern.
"It doesn't hurt," Fang Bo replied softly.
After a moment, he added, "Wife, if you find me unappealing, it would really hurt my feelings!"
I was taken aback for a moment before responding with a smile, "I don't find you unappealing! And you better not find me unappealing either!"
"Alright!" Fang Bo replied with a grin.
