Upon hearing this, Nangong Shuang felt her doubts ease slightly. If Xiao Zhongyan truly intended to harm her, he wouldn't share so much information. It seemed he genuinely wanted to clear the Nangong Family's name.
"Why do you care so much about the Nangong Family?" she further probed. "Is there a special reason?"

Nangong Shuang sighed with relief: it seemed that Xiao Zhongyan was not certain about her identity; he merely had his suspicions.
