"What is it?" both the Chancellor and Xu Daren asked simultaneously.
Xiao Xiang lowered his voice, "The remnants of the Nangong Family. It is said that the daughter of Nangong Laoyezi escaped back then and has been missing ever since. If she is still alive and possesses some evidence, combined with the incomplete Medical Book in the Crown Prince's possession, this case could take a turn."

At that moment, an unexpected gust of wind blew through the courtyard, causing several leaves to fall right onto the windowsill. Startled, Nangong Shuang instinctively took a step back but accidentally bumped into a vase beneath the window!
With a loud crash, the vase fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.
The conversation inside came to an abrupt halt.
"Who?!" Xiao Xiang shouted sharply.
Nangong Shuang realized she had startled those inside and made a quick decision to escape. Just then, the door opened, and Xiao Xiang stormed out in anger.
"Who is lurking outside?!" he demanded fiercely.
Nangong Shuang quickly hid behind a large tree and held her breath. She knew her situation was perilous; if discovered eavesdropping on their secret conversation, the consequences would be dire.
"Master, could there be an assassin?" a servant rushed over upon hearing the commotion.
Xiao Xiang replied sternly, "Search the courtyard carefully and see who is listening by the window!"
The servants scattered with lanterns in hand, beginning to search every corner of the courtyard. Nangong Shuang felt an overwhelming sense of danger surrounding her. She looked around for an escape route but found that the gate was already guarded by servants, leaving her with no way out.
Just then, cheerful music and cheers from a crowd echoed from afar—the lantern parade had begun! Nangong Shuang's heart raced: this was a perfect opportunity to flee!
However, as she prepared to act, one of the servants approached her hiding spot near the tree, and the light from his lantern was about to shine on her.
In that critical moment, a familiar voice suddenly called out from near the gate: "Father, there you are! The guests have all gone to watch the lantern parade; why are you hiding here?"
It was Xiao Zhongyan!
Xiao Xiang turned to his son, "Xiao Zhongyan? What brings you here?"
Xiao Zhongyan walked into the courtyard with big strides and smiled, "The Crown Prince asked about your whereabouts, so I’ve been looking for you everywhere. I happened to run into a young servant who said he saw you come this way." He looked around and asked with a smile, "What are you doing in this courtyard?"
Xiao Xiang's expression darkened. "Someone was eavesdropping on our conversation from outside the window and broke a vase while escaping."
Xiao Zhongyan exclaimed in surprise, "Really? Could it be that one of the guests got lost after drinking too much and wandered into the inner courtyard? There are so many guests tonight, and with the house all lit up, it's easy to take a wrong turn."
The Prime Minister stepped out from inside the building, his voice grave. "This is no small matter. We are discussing confidential matters, and if someone overheard us, the consequences could be dire."
Just as they were speaking, a servant suddenly shouted, "My lord, there's someone here!"
Nangong Shuang's heart tightened: They’ve been discovered!
However, to her surprise, the servant was pointing not at her hiding place but at a corner of the courtyard among the flower bushes. Several servants rushed over and quickly dragged out a drunken man.
