The next day, Zhang Jianhua began his "revenge plan." However, eliminating two people without being detected was no easy task. Where could he strike without raising suspicion? 0

Zhang Jianhua considered many locations before finally settling on the new apartment he had just purchased. This unit was located on the first floor of Building 2 in Lianggang Dormitory and was currently under renovation, making it mostly unoccupied. Most importantly, he could use the renovation as an excuse to dig a deep pit inside. 0

"This is the place!" Zhang Jianhua decided firmly. He found a reason to pause the construction work for a few days. Then, alone, he dug a pit over a meter deep in the living room floor. After finishing, he rented a unit on the third floor as a temporary residence. 0

"A flawless plan!" Zhang Jianhua smiled smugly as he looked at the completed pit. "I’m not new to this; I have nothing to fear!" He encouraged himself. 0

Eight years ago, he had already taken a life. It was also his friends, Xu Shiming and Tang Xia, but that time it was for money; this time it was for love. For some reason, he felt a slight unease creeping into his heart. To overcome this psychological barrier, he began to brainwash himself relentlessly. 0

"It was her who betrayed me! She was the one who wronged me first!" 0

"I treated her so well, and she ended up with another man!" 0

"Such a woman deserves to die!" 0

To solidify his resolve, Zhang Jianhua even bought a bottle of good wine, planning to drink it before taking action to bolster his courage. 0

On the night of September 24th, everything was ready. Zhang Jianhua called Chen Yumei: "Xiaomei, come over tonight; I have a surprise for you." 0

"What surprise?" Chen Yumei asked playfully over the phone. 0

"You'll find out when you get here; I guarantee you'll love it," Zhang Jianhua replied casually. 0

At 8 PM that evening, Chen Yumei arrived promptly at the rented apartment on the third floor. Zhang Jianhua had already prepared a lavish dinner spread, complete with a fine bottle of wine. 0

"Wow, Brother Jianhua, you really went all out today!" Chen Yumei exclaimed, clapping her hands in delight at the sight of the table full of dishes. 0

"Of course! You're my treasure; how could I not put in the effort?" Zhang Jianhua replied with a smile, though inside he thought, "Eat up; this is your last meal." 0

The two began to drink, and since Chen Yumei had a low tolerance for alcohol, it didn't take long for her to become tipsy under Zhang Jianhua's persistent encouragement. 0

"Brother Jianhua, I'm feeling a bit dizzy; I want to lie down for a while," she slurred. 0

"Alright, alright, you lie down first. I'll clean up," Zhang Jianhua said gently. 0

Once he confirmed that Chen Yumei was sound asleep, he retrieved the prepared hemp rope from the storage cabinet. 0

"I've treated you so well, yet you betrayed me!" he seethed as he looked at the peacefully sleeping Chen Yumei. All his pent-up resentment erupted. "Tonight, you'll learn the consequences of betraying a man!" 0

With trembling hands, he looped the rope around her neck and pulled tightly... 0

Minutes later, it was all over. Zhang Jianhua stared at Chen Yumei's lifeless body, his emotions tangled. He felt both a rush of vengeance and an indescribable emptiness. 0

"Is this it? So simple?" he muttered to himself. 0

He dragged Chen Yumei's body down to the first floor and tossed it into a deep pit he had dug earlier. Then he sat at the edge of the pit, smoking silently. 0

Suddenly, a thought struck him. Sang Hongying was Chen Yumei's cousin; they shared everything with each other. Worse yet, Sang Hongying was also the intermediary between him and Zhang Xianwu; she knew their relationship all too well. 0

"Damn it! If she discovers her cousin is missing, she'll definitely suspect me!" Zhang Jianhua's fear grew as he thought more about it. "She knows about my relationship with Chen Yumei and my business dealings with Zhang Xianwu. What if she goes to the police..." 0

The thought spiraled in his mind like a devilish whisper. 0

"I can't take that risk! She must die!" 0
