"Roar—!"
A roar that was anything but a sound of enlightenment erupted from my throat, and black demonic energy burst forth like a volcanic eruption, instantly tearing apart the Buddhist light surrounding me.
I did not take out the Golden Staff—at this moment, I could not even trust that weapon. Instead, I channeled all the power within me—whether it was Buddhist or demonic—into my fists, bracing myself against the descending Pagoda and meeting it head-on!
"Boom!"
The tremendous force collided, causing the entire Reincarnation Office to tremble violently. Li Jing clearly did not expect me to dare to confront his magical artifact barehanded; he staggered back half a step, a flicker of surprise crossing his eyes.
I, too, felt my blood surge from the impact. At the moment my fists collided with the Pagoda, my palms shook violently, yet the scroll between my fingers remained as hard as iron, showing no signs of damage.
The attack from the Four Heavenly Kings was upon me. I flipped backward to evade the magical net while using the scroll as a shield in front of me.
"Clang!"
The sound of the pipa blade from the Holding Nation King struck the scroll, producing a metallic clash that left only a faint white mark on its cover. It truly was no ordinary object!
Seeing this, Li Jing's gaze sharpened; he clearly realized something was amiss with the scroll. He urged the Pagoda again, this time aiming directly at the scroll in my hand.
"Destroying evidence?" I sneered inwardly.
I no longer dodged; instead, I charged forward!
I pushed my demonic power to its limits, black flames igniting on my arm as I swung the scroll like a brick toward Li Jing's Pagoda!
On one side was my overwhelming demonic power. On the other side was Li Jing's demon-subduing artifact. The scroll was caught between these two drastically opposing forces.
"Rip—!"
A piercing sound of tearing echoed through the air. The exceptionally resilient dark golden cover finally split open under this terrifying combined force!
It did not shatter; instead, it was like a carefully disguised painted skin, with its surface torn away to reveal a completely different... second layer!
What was that?
Beneath the golden surface marked by Buddhist scriptures lay a dark red material, seemingly stained by some kind of blood. There were no inscriptions from the Buddhist sect on it, but rather a wild and unruly ancient demonic script that I had never seen before yet felt inexplicably familiar with deep in my soul!
These characters were not written with ink.
They were inscribed with long-dried, yet still brimming with overwhelming demonic energy... heart's blood!
I could sense the lingering will within that heart's blood—unyielding, violent, and towering. This was the heart's blood belonging to a certain demon clan's Great Sage!
Ksitigarbha had not betrayed me.
This was a trial.
As I braced my body against the onslaught of the Four Heavenly Kings' formation, I rapidly read through the blood-red script.
The truth seared into my Sea of Consciousness like a red-hot iron.
"To Great Sage," it began.
"Xi Xing does not seek scriptures; rather, it is for the grand scheme of Ling Tai Fu Xie."
"Five Elements Mountain is not for suppression; it is to refine your memory vessel. The golden hoop is not for binding; it is to root the heart's imprint of obedience."
"The eighty-one trials are not tests; they are the eighty-one methods of nine transformations in demon refinement, rewriting your character, emotions, and cognition one by one. With each trial passed, Sun Wukong diminishes a bit, while Demon Fighting Buddha emerges a bit more."
"Your Sea of Consciousness and Blood Sea are not heart demons; they are remnants of your overwritten true self. The havoc in Heaven is not sin; it is your free will. Hua Guo Shan is not your homeland; it is the origin point of your existence."
"This scroll was written with the heart's blood of the former king of all demons, Ping Tian Da Sheng Niu Mo Wang, and I have sealed it on his behalf. To tear open the surface Buddhist seal requires a clash of Buddhist and demonic powers; this is the only method to verify your being."
"Great Sage, if you see this letter, it proves that your 'self' has not been completely erased. Flee quickly! Go reclaim your 'Dao'."
"Lingshan is a cage."
Boom—!
My mind went blank.
All previous humiliation, betrayal, and self-doubt—the bone-chilling cold—were in that moment burned away by an overwhelming fury that could incinerate the three realms!
I understood.
I understood it all!
I am not insane! I am not sick!
My pain is real, my memories exist!
They are not saving a Yao Hou; they are murdering a... Qi Tian, the Great Sage!
"Ahhhhhhh—!"
I howled to the heavens, my cry no longer a mix of Buddha and demon, but a pure, primal roar of fury from the depths of my soul!
Black demonic energy surged into the sky, instantly shattering the Four Heavenly Kings' Binding God Diamond Formation into pieces.
Li Jing stared at me in horror, gazing at the torn scroll in my hand that emanated a terrifying demonic aura. For the first time, panic appeared on his face.
"You... you..."
I slowly raised my head, and in my eyes, there was no trace of Buddha's light left, only two burning golden flames.
I looked at him and spoke each word clearly:
"Go back and tell Tathagata."
"The weapon he forged has remembered its true name."
"I am Qi Tian Da Sheng Sun Wukong."
