"Is the antidote ready?" Nangong Shuang asked weakly.
Xiao Zhongyan shook his head, his face filled with regret. "We are still missing a few key ingredients. The Crown Prince has sent people to search everywhere, but it is difficult to gather them all at once." He opened a brocade box and took out a dark red pill. "This is the Ding Yan Pill I retrieved from my home. While it cannot detoxify, it can temporarily suppress the poison and delay its onset."
Nangong Shuang gratefully accepted the pill and swallowed it with some tea. Soon, she felt the pain in her left wrist lessen significantly, and the purple around her Plum Blossom Birthmark faded somewhat, returning to a blood-red hue.
"Thank you, sir," Nangong Shuang said softly.
Xiao Zhongyan sighed. "No need for thanks. However, this Ding Yan Pill can only temporarily alleviate the symptoms; it cannot eliminate the toxin. We must find all the ingredients as soon as possible to refine the Nine-Turn Resurrection Pill."
Nangong Shuang nodded, suddenly recalling something. "Have we checked Li Fu's body? Did we find anything?"
A glimmer of light flashed in Xiao Zhongyan's eyes. "The Crown Prince has sent people to thoroughly investigate Li Fu's residence and discovered some interesting things." He took out a letter from his pocket. "This was found under Li Fu's pillow. The letter mentions that he had arranged to meet Zhang Quan today at Wangyue Tower in the east of the city, seemingly to exchange some important items."
Nangong Shuang took the letter and read it carefully, noting that it indeed mentioned a transaction but did not specify its contents, referring only to "treasures."
"This 'treasure' is likely the other two volumes of the Heavenly Fragrance Life-Extending Technique!" Nangong Shuang exclaimed excitedly. "Zhang Quan and Li Fu were each holding one; now they want to reunite."
Xiao Zhongyan nodded. "That's what I think as well. Unfortunately, they didn't have time to meet before they were both murdered. The killer was clearly in a hurry and was after the Medical Book."
Nangong Shuang pondered aloud, "Then how did the killer know about this letter? How were their movements exposed?"

Nangong Shuang's heart raced. "Someone from the Xiao Family? Who do you suspect?"
Xiao Zhongyan hesitated. "I don't want to jump to conclusions, but there is indeed one person who fits all the criteria."

Both Nangong Shuang and Xiao Zhongyan's expressions changed simultaneously as they asked in unison, "Who is the deceased?"
The guard replied, "Reports say it's a fishmonger who carried a Nangong Family Token!"
Nangong Shuang sprang to her feet despite the sharp pain in her left wrist. "We must go see immediately!"
Xiao Zhongyan tried to dissuade her. "You are poisoned; it's not wise to go out."
Nangong Shuang insisted firmly, "Precisely because I am poisoned, I need to find both the killer and the antidote even more urgently. This fishmonger must be related to the Nangong Family; his death may provide us with new clues."
Seeing her determination, Xiao Zhongyan could only nod in agreement. "Alright, but be careful; let me know immediately if you feel unwell."
The two hurried out, accompanied by the guards, heading towards the Wangyue Tower in the eastern part of the city. The streets of the capital were desolate in the late night, with only a few scattered lights. The carriage sped along, quickly arriving in front of a tea house in the eastern district.
