Nangong Shuang nodded, but her brow remained furrowed. "But why did this 'Xue Mei' appear in the 'Wangyue Tower'? Who would plant such a rare Poison Flower here?"
Xiao Zhongyan also found it puzzling. "It is indeed strange. Unless..." he said thoughtfully, "unless the murderer had already planned everything, deliberately planting the 'Xue Mei' to lure the Nangong Family members here."
Nangong Shuang looked at him in surprise. "Are you saying this is a trap?"
Xiao Zhongyan nodded. "It's very likely. The murderer knew that Zhang Quan and Li Fu were meeting here to exchange 'treasures', so they set up a trap in advance, waiting for them to walk right into it."
Nangong Shuang pondered, "If that's the case, then the murderer not only knows the whereabouts of the Nangong Family, but also their means of communication. This person must have a close connection to the Nangong Family, or..."

The two concluded their investigation at the Wangyue Tower and returned to the Crown Prince's Mansion. On the way, Nangong Shuang carefully studied the remnants of the Medical Book, hoping to find more information about "Mei Ying San" and the antidote.
"According to this formula, the 'Nine-Turn Resurrection Pill' requires 'Xue Mei' flower petals as the main ingredient, combined with 'Thousand-Year Snow Lotus', 'Longan Incense', and over ten other rare medicinal materials. It must be refined nine times and finally infused with the blood of the user to achieve maximum efficacy," Nangong Shuang explained.
Xiao Zhongyan contemplated, "Some of these medicinal materials are available in the Crown Prince's Mansion, and I have some at home as well. The rest will likely require a search throughout the city."
Nangong Shuang nodded. "The refining process is also quite complex; it requires strict control over heat and timing. A slight misstep could ruin everything."
Once they returned to the Crown Prince's Mansion, Xiao Zhongyan immediately reported to the prince and arranged for personnel to gather medicinal materials. Meanwhile, Nangong Shuang returned to her room to prepare the tools and materials for alchemy.
She carefully placed the "Xue Mei" on the table, ready to extract its petals. However, just as she leaned closer to the flower, a sudden sharp pain shot through her left wrist where her Plum Blossom Birthmark was located, and purple poison spots began to spread again!
"Ah!" Nangong Shuang cried out in pain, collapsing to her knees as her left hand uncontrollably reached toward the "Xue Mei!"
Just as her fingers were about to touch the flower, the door burst open, and Xiao Zhongyan rushed in. "Nangong Shuang, the prince has already sent people to look for medicinal materials; we will soon—" His words halted abruptly as he stared in shock at Nangong Shuang, who was kneeling on the ground. "What happened?!"
In agony, Nangong Shuang could not respond. Her left hand seemed drawn by an invisible force, uncontrollably reaching for "Xue Mei!". Seeing this, Xiao Zhongyan quickly stepped forward to stop her and pulled her hand away.
"This is strange!" Nangong Shuang gritted her teeth. "'Xue Mei' seems to have some sort of attraction to my birthmark; my hand wants to touch it against my will!"
Quickly removing "Xue Mei", Xiao Zhongyan placed it on a distant cabinet before releasing Nangong Shuang's hand. "This flower is indeed bizarre; it seems almost sentient. Once those from the Crown Prince's Mansion gather all the materials, we will brew the antidote immediately."
Nodding weakly, Nangong Shuang managed to stand but suddenly felt dizzy and nearly fell over. Xiao Zhongyan hurriedly supported her, worry etched on his face. "The poison is acting faster; we need to hurry."
