Here it comes! 0

Looking around her familiar room, Yue Lin lowered her gaze to her hands and flexed them a few times before raising her eyes to the front— 0

Uh… there was only a door in front of her. 0

It was the door to her room, one she knew all too well. 0

Yue Lin couldn't help but let out a sigh of regret. It seemed that even in a lucid dream, things didn't always go as one hoped… 0

Well, anyway, she decided to follow the agreed steps and open the door first! 0

With a sense of determination, she got up and walked to the door, turning the doorknob and pulling it open as she usually did— 0

Outside was the staircase she was so familiar with. 0

However, the light that she usually left on at night was now turned off. 0

Yue Lin stared blankly at the dark staircase for a moment, then fully opened the door, using the light from her room to search for the switch. No matter how many times she pressed it, the staircase light refused to turn on. 0

Is the bulb broken? she thought instinctively. 0

Hesitating slightly, she turned to look at the stairs shrouded in darkness. She remembered that spare bulbs were kept in the drawer of the living room cabinet… Should she change it now? Or would it be better to wait until tomorrow morning? 0

Returning to the matter at hand… she was indeed in a dream, wasn’t she? 0

Looking down at her palm and flexing it a few times, she suddenly felt uncertain about whether she was in reality or in a dream… 0

How could she confirm it? 0

Should she use a spinning top like Leonardo? But there was no top nearby… 0

In any case, she should first look for a light bulb! 0

Taking a deep breath, Yue Lin gazed at the staircase that seemed to lead into an abyss of darkness. 0

After all, she was in her familiar home; there was nothing to fear. 0

Having built up her courage, she stepped forward and slowly made her way down the stairs into the living room. 0

However, strangely enough, the staircase seemed to stretch on endlessly; no matter how much she walked, she couldn’t reach the living room. 0

When she finally realized something was off and tried to turn back, she found that the light from the room behind her had vanished as well. She stood there in complete darkness, unsure whether to go back or continue forward… 0

“It was really terrifying!” Yue Lin exclaimed excitedly to Meng Yi. “Even after I woke up, I hesitated about whether I should really go downstairs. Thankfully, when I opened the door, everything outside looked normal; otherwise, I would have gone crazy!” 0

Meng Yi quietly finished reading the entries in the diary, then thoughtfully looked up at the still shaken Yue Lin, waving a hand in front of her. 0

"So, how do you know whether you're dreaming or awake right now?" Meng Yi asked. 0

"Huh? Because you're here!" Yue Lin replied with a look of certainty. "Since I was able to come out and find you at your house, it means I'm awake, right?" 0

"My existence is actually your basis for judgment?" Meng Yi couldn't help but chuckle. "Have you never dreamed of me before?" 0

"Well... I probably have, but I remember that conversations in dreams are usually nonsensical and illogical. Right now, I can chat with you normally, so I can confirm that you're real." 0

"I think in situations like this, we should take the opposite approach. After all, lucid dreams can be controlled by self-awareness, making it increasingly difficult to distinguish between reality and illusion. So when you don't know whether you're asleep or awake, what needs to be proven is not whether you're conscious, but whether you're dreaming," Meng Yi said. 0
