I sighed.
Although I knew I would be criticized, I never expected it to be this severe.
What surprised me even more was that the harshest critics were those who claimed to be fans of Old Ye.
I was genuinely worried about how this would affect Ye Wen.
So, on my way back to my room, I had a chat with Ye Wen.
"You don't have to push yourself so hard; it's just an entertainment show," I said.
Ye Wen raised an eyebrow. "I'm not pushing myself; I'm just having fun."
Hearing him say that, I felt relieved. "That's good to know."
He turned to look at me. "Are you so concerned about me because you're afraid it will affect you?"
I nodded. "Yeah, after all, you have so many fans. If they criticize me, I might not be able to handle it."
Ye Wen chuckled lightly. "Don't worry; it won't affect you."
Hearing that made me feel at ease.
"Tomorrow's activity seems to be an all-day hike. You should get to bed early," Ye Wen said.
I nodded.
We were a couple, so there was only one bed.
I appeared a bit hesitant.
"Just sleep on the bed; I'll take the floor," Ye Wen offered.
I sighed in relief. "Thank you."
He shook his head. "It's nothing."
We each took our showers and then went to sleep.
The next day's task was a tandem bicycle race.
Chen Xiaohui was still discussing camera angles with the director, seemingly anxious because they hadn't secured first place in the previous two rounds.
"Director Liu, are you sure this angle will work?" Chen Xiaohui asked, pointing to the script in the director's hand.
Director Liu nodded. "Don't worry, this angle is the best."
"Alright, I'll trust you one more time," Chen Xiaohui said.
Director Liu smiled wryly. "Sister Li, when have I ever lied to you?"
Chen Xiaohui smiled slightly. "Okay, then I’ll believe you!"
"This time, I will definitely take first place!"
Old Li walked over as well. "Honey, don't worry, I will help you secure that first place."
Chen Xiaohui smiled gently. "I believe in you."
The comments flooded in joyfully—
"Ahhh! Sister Li is so beautiful!"
"Ahhh! Old Li is so handsome!"
"Ahhh! Sister Li and Old Li are so sweet together!"
"Ahhh! Sister Li, Old Li, lock me in forever!"
"Sister Li and Old Li, a lifetime together as a pair!"
Chen Xiaohui returned to the camera and, upon seeing Ye Wen, furrowed her brow. "Judge, is it really okay for him to participate in the show like this?"
The judge was taken aback. "What's wrong?"
Chen Xiaohui replied, "He's not an actor!"
The judge smiled. "Participating in a show doesn't have to be limited to actors!"
Chen Xiaohui frowned. "But if he joins the show, isn't it unfair for us?"
The judge shook his head. "It's fine; the purpose of participating is to experience the process, not to overly concern ourselves with the outcome."
Chen Xiaohui wanted to say more but was interrupted by Old Li.
Old Li gently said, "Dear, the judge is right. Participating in the show is about experiencing it; we shouldn't worry too much about the results."
Chen Xiaohui pouted. "Alright then!"
The comments flooded in joyfully—
"I actually think Sister Li makes a good point."
