Laughter erupted in the private room as a slightly drunk fat man clapped his hands.
"Wang Jiu, the auction is fine, but shouldn’t we check the goods first?"
Wang Jiu Ye chuckled lazily, leaning back on the sofa, and waved his fingers.
"Didn’t you hear the guests want to inspect the goods? Take off your clothes."
Damn it, these shameless old men.
I began to unbutton my shirt, my fingers stiff with nervousness.
One button, two buttons...
Suddenly, the drunken fat man stood up and staggered toward me.
"Just looking isn’t enough; you have to feel it to know if it's good quality!"
He reached out to grab my shoulder.
Instinctively, I stepped back and knocked over the ice bucket beside me.
A whole bucket of ice water splashed onto the bald man next to me without wasting a drop.
"Damn!"
The bald man looked down at his soaked pants and shot me a fierce glare before turning to Wang Jiu Ye.
Wang Jiu Ye’s expression darkened as he gestured for another bodyguard to join him.
"Help her."
The bald man grabbed my arm while the other one reached out to tear at my shirt.
With a rip—
In the dim light of the private room, my shirt was torn open, revealing large patches of red rashes on my chest.
These rashes were irregularly spread across my chest and shoulders, looking quite disturbing.
The bald man immediately released me, wiping his hands on his pants.
Wang Jiu Ye’s previously playful expression froze. "What’s going on? Are you messing with me?"
I clutched my collar tightly, wrapping myself up, and in an instant, my expression changed as I burst into tears.
"I'm sorry, Wang Jiu, I… I've had this skin disease for years, and it just won't go away. It's contagious…"
The guests collectively grimaced, several of them even covering their noses.
"Get out of here!"
"What is this? It's disgusting!"
…
Scar Liu also looked thoroughly repulsed, grabbing my collar and preparing to drag me out.
I lowered my head, holding onto my collar tightly as I followed Scar Liu's force toward the door.
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my back!
A large glass ashtray had crashed down.
It was thrown by Wang Jiu Ye.
I had embarrassed him in front of the guests, and naturally, he was furious.
I stumbled from the impact but bit back the pain and hurriedly continued to move outside.
The hallway was brighter than the private room, and I glanced down at the red rashes on my body, now damp with sweat.
Fortunately, they still looked intact; at least I had fooled everyone.
These rashes took me a full three hours to paint on.
Afterward, I changed into a cleaner's uniform and worked until three in the morning to finally finish cleaning three entire floors of restrooms.
I glanced at the empty hallway, planning to slip away discreetly.
My sister's condition hasn't been great lately; I wanted to take this chance to check on her.
With my head down, just as I reached the entrance of the club, I heard someone call out behind me.
"Lin Xue."
I froze and slowly turned around.
Scar Liu looked at me with a half-smile, "It's not time yet; where do you think you're going?"
"Sister Liu... I'm going out for some fresh air."
Scar Liu beckoned with her finger. "Wang Jiu is looking for you, come with me."
I knew refusing would be pointless, so I steeled myself and followed her back to the VIP room we had been in before.
Wang Jiu Ye was still sitting in his original spot, though the guests around him had changed. He was idly playing with a deck of cards and glanced at me casually.
"Don't be in such a hurry to clock out. Why not stay and play a few hands with us?"
