Madam Han's face instantly turned pale as she hurriedly put down her fan and reached out to grasp her daughter's sleeve. "What nonsense are you talking about, you little child?" 0

Old Hu nearly dropped the wine cup in his hand, while Madam Hu stiffened, the color draining from her face. Both of their hearts raced in their throats. 0

But the little girl seemed unfazed, tilting her small face as she continued, "It's really not! I remember Sister Hu's eyes weren't this big or this beautiful. Mother, don't you remember? The last time we met at An Guo Temple..." 0

"Stop talking nonsense!" Madam Han snapped sharply, twisting her daughter's arm with force. 0

The little girl winced and looked up at her mother with a hurt expression, too afraid to say anything more. 0

At that moment, everyone's gaze shifted between Su Yuntang and the Han family. Lady Long's eyes sparkled with excitement as she prepared to ask more questions. 0

Long Xi stood up with a gentle smile. "Uncle Han, Auntie Han, don’t be angry with the child. This little girl is right." 0

Everyone was taken aback, and Old Hu and Madam Hu were left utterly terrified. 0

Long Xi walked over to Su Yuntang and naturally draped his arm around her shoulders. "My wife does indeed look a bit different from before. After all, she has transitioned from a young girl to a married woman; her demeanor has changed, and she appears even more stunning." He paused, glancing at Su Yuntang with a smile in his eyes. "Little sister has a keen eye; she can see at a glance that my wife is more beautiful than before." 0

The little girl's cheeks flushed red as she shyly hid behind her mother. 0

Madam Han finally let out a sigh of relief, quickly picking up her fan again to cover the embarrassment on her face. She forced a smile and said, "What the second young master says is true; women do change as they grow older. The Second Young Mistress is indeed more charming than before." 0

"Yes, yes," other guests chimed in agreement. "A woman after marriage always seems particularly captivating." 0

Su Yuntang felt a wave of gratitude wash over her as she cast a thankful glance at Long Xi. However, he merely nodded lightly and shifted his gaze away. 0

Yet Su Yuntang was certain she saw Long Xi's ears turn slightly red. 0

The banquet continued amidst the heavy summer heat, but the Long Family's hall was adorned with dozens of ice basins that dispelled the oppressive warmth. 0

While conversing, Su Yuntang noticed an unfamiliar little maid approaching Long Xi with a silver pot in hand. 0

The little maid appeared to be around fourteen or fifteen years old, with her hair styled in double buns. She had a fairly delicate appearance but her eyes flickered uncertainly as she walked with slightly trembling steps. 0

"Second Young Master, I’m here to refill your wine," the little maid said softly, but Su Yuntang noticed that her fingers seemed to tremble slightly. 0

Su Yuntang's nostrils flared as she caught a faint unusual scent wafting from the wine. The smell was extremely subtle, mingled within the aroma of the alcohol; if it weren't for her acute sensitivity to various medicinal scents, she might have missed it entirely. 0

She discreetly glanced at Long Xi, who was about to lift his cup with a faint smile on his lips, clearly unaware of any danger. 0

Realizing the urgency of the situation, Su Yuntang decided to act without hesitation. She stood up casually and said, "Husband, this lotus leaf cake looks exquisite; let me get you a piece to try." As she spoke, she reached for the pastries across the table, deliberately brushing against Long Xi's right arm. 0

With a loud crash, the porcelain wine cup fell to the ground and shattered into several pieces, spilling wine across the blue brick floor and releasing an intense fragrance mixed with that faint unusual odor. 0
