"This herb garden..." Su Yuntang gently brushed her fingers over a tender green leaf and turned to look at Luo Xi.
Luo Xi scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Replying to Second Young Mistress, this is just a personal hobby of mine. I learned from an old doctor for a few years in my youth. Although my medical skills are not refined, I am quite adept at growing herbs. I usually send the surplus herbs to the clinic in town to exchange for some pocket money to help with household expenses."

Once everything was settled, the sun was nearly setting.
Su Yuntang made her way alone to the hexagonal pavilion by the water, leaning against the railing. The evening breeze gently brushed against her, bringing with it the fragrance of lotus flowers.
This tranquility was something she had never experienced in Longfu.
Footsteps approached from behind her, and she turned to see Long Xi walking slowly towards her with a tea set in hand. Today he wore a light moon-white outfit, looking more relaxed than his usual serious demeanor.
"Madam, are you here alone pondering something?" Long Xi sat down on the stone bench beside her and skillfully warmed the teapot and cups.
"I just feel that this place is so much better than the manor," Su Yuntang replied as she took the tea cup he offered, savoring a sip of the lightly fragrant and sweet tea. "At least here, I can enjoy a moment of peace without constantly worrying about someone plotting against me from behind."
Long Xi nodded, gazing towards the distant mountains. "Indeed."
The two sat quietly together, watching as the sunset gradually sank behind the mountains, the clouds in the sky shifting from golden to orange-red before slowly fading away. It wasn't until Liu Mama came to call them for dinner that they finally rose and returned indoors.
After dinner, Su Yuntang remembered that she still had a cough from the fire incident and thought of the small natural hot spring in the villa, which would be very beneficial for nourishing her lungs and alleviating dryness. She instructed Hong Xiu and Lu Ao to prepare some clean clothes before heading alone to the hot spring in the backyard.
The moonlight shone like silver upon the hot spring pool.
This pool had been specially built by Madam Tai years ago, nestled among Fake Mountain's stone walls and distanced from the main house, perfectly hidden under a grove of bamboo—very serene.
Hot springs bubbled up from between the rocks, rising into wisps of white mist that intertwined with the moonlight above, creating an ethereal scene.
After dinner, Long Xi found himself with nothing to do and decided to go to his study for a book. However, as he passed by the stone path next to the hot spring, he suddenly heard a few soft coughs coming from within the stone wall.
He halted his steps and instantly realized—she was in the pool!
Although they were officially husband and wife, they had always slept separately and had never been intimate. At this moment, if he lingered here and was discovered…
Long Xi quickly tried to leave but in his haste stepped on a branch that snapped loudly beneath his foot.
"Who?"
In a moment of tranquil silence, Su Yuntang suddenly heard the sound of footsteps, and a jolt of alarm shot through him.
Long Xi also felt a wave of unease wash over him, caught in a dilemma. If he were to leave quietly now, it would only make him seem guilty. He stood still for a moment, then cleared his throat awkwardly and spoke, "It’s… it’s me. I was just passing by and didn’t mean to disturb you. I’ll be on my way."
As soon as he finished speaking, he turned to leave quickly.
"Wait." Su Yuntang's voice came from the water, surprisingly tinged with relief. "So it’s you."
Long Xi was taken aback by the response and halted in his tracks.
