"Don't love me, I beg you, don't love me!" 0

Jiang Fan and I grew up together as childhood sweethearts, from school uniforms to wedding dresses. We were each other's first love and each other's only one. Along the way, Jiang Fan told me countless times that he loved me. 0

The first time I heard it, my heart raced. The next time, it was a gentle murmur. That feeling of having the whole world in my hands once captivated me. Until Jiang Fan shattered it all. 0

After a night of heavy drinking, he told me that he still loved me, but he didn't love Jia Jia. "Without you, Jia Jia means nothing to me!" 0

Is this a love confession? No, it sent chills down my spine. If a person can't even love their own child, then they should only love themselves. 0

"Jiang Fan, honestly, your current life must be quite comfortable for you, aside from being a bit boring." 0

"After all, I don't ask you to come home early, I don't demand your company, I don't check your whereabouts or interfere with your plans." 0

"You've easily become a father to a five-year-old child; you have a family and a wife but don't have to give anything in return." 0

"So, is it because you're the one benefiting that you can do so many terrible things and still say you won't get a divorce?" 0

"Here we go again! Here we go again!" Jiang Fan shouted in anger. "Can we just stick to the point and not dig up old grievances? Ma Hui, this is really pointless!" 0

Stick to the point, huh? Fine! 0

"The fact that you want to cheat is already established; it's not Yang Fang, it could be someone else." 0

"You and Yang Fang have crossed the line of a normal relationship, and I have reasonable doubts that you’ve cheated!" 0
"I haven’t!" Jiang Fan shouted. 0
I scoffed, "I don’t believe you!" 0
"What will it take for you to believe me?" 0
"No matter what, I won’t believe you!" 0
Jiang Fan glared at me angrily. "Ma Hui, you’re being unreasonable!" 0
I nodded, "So what? Jiang Fan, since I’ve already proposed divorce, I will do whatever it takes to end this marriage." 0
"You can take my words as a threat!" 0
Jiang Fan's expression was emotionless. 0
I continued, "Or let me be clearer: your company is at a critical point for going public." 0
"You might want to consider whether it’s less damaging to expose a scandal or to have a peaceful divorce!" 0
In that moment, Jiang Fan fell silent. 0
I had said everything I could; now it was up to Jiang Fan to decide. 0
He seemed like he hadn’t slept all night. 0
In the middle of the night, I went downstairs for some water and could still see the light shining through the crack under the study door. 0
The next day, we took Jia Jia to kindergarten together. 0
Once Jia Jia walked inside, Jiang Fan turned to me and said, "I agree." 0
"If that’s what you want, then I’ll grant your wish!" 0
The divorce process went smoothly. 0
Jiang Fan didn’t drag his feet at all; he agreed readily. 0
As for the assets, I hadn’t planned on asking for much. 0
In the end, he voluntarily gave me more than half. 0

I was taken aback for a moment as he looked at me, cigarette in his mouth, and said casually, "It's for Jia Jia." 0

I didn't say much and accepted it. 0

The news of our divorce wasn't kept a secret; soon both our parents were aware. At first, they were furious, unable to understand why we were getting divorced. 0

Jiang Fan shot me a glance and muttered, "It's because of our incompatible feelings." 0

My dad slammed the table and asked, "Are you sure it's not because of that woman outside?" 0

Jiang Fan's parents looked confused. "What woman?" 0

My mom's face turned pale with anger. "The one he's keeping at West Suburb Villa!" 0

Jiang Fan's expression darkened instantly. His parents looked disappointed while mine were aggressive. 0

Jiang Fan shouted in frustration, "I have nothing to do with her! I just pity her; believe it or not!" 0

My mom scoffed, "Even beggars on the street deserve pity; why don't you bring one home?" 0

Jiang Fan was stunned, his gaze towards me filled with complexity. He seemed to want to say something but ultimately held his tongue. 0
