Aunt looked suspicious. 0
"Are you sure you weren't fooled? Did she ask you to buy tea leaves?" 0
There was a boy in our village who, after falling for an online romance, ended up buying over a hundred pounds of tea leaves, spending fifty to sixty thousand. In the end, they broke up. So everyone in the village knows that a girlfriend who sells tea leaves is not worth having. 0
"No, we've video chatted and met in person. I even have her photo." 0
He took out a picture from his wallet. 0
The girl looked clean and fresh, with two dimples when she smiled and bright eyes. 0
The women sighed with regret, as if they had missed out on a fortune. 0
But not long ago, they had looked down on my brother, thinking he was just wasting time at home without making any money. 0
It was much later that I realized there was a term that fit my brother well: social anxiety. 0
He appeared cool and spoke little. In reality, it was because he wasn't good at or fond of interacting with people. Most of the time, he immersed himself in his own world of anime and manga. 0
During college, I accidentally discovered my brother's online persona. He was a Rural Literature Author with quite a few fans. He wrote stories like Country Doctor and Country Fortune Teller. They were quite popular, which explained why he made so much money. 0
As the banquet came to an end, our mother pretended to care as she left, saying, "Shi Shi, don't misunderstand your mother; I still care about you." 0
Our Biological Father gritted his teeth and said, "You ungrateful thing; you should have been drowned in the cesspool back then." 0

I smiled faintly and said, "It's a pity I survived, and I'm doing quite well. Things will only get better from here on out, and this goodness has nothing to do with you all." 0

My biological father nearly choked with anger. 0

My elder sister disapproved. "Mom and Dad have their difficulties too; you should try to understand them." 0

I asked her, "Is it allowed to have a third child now?" 0

She sighed softly. "They always want a son; otherwise, your brother-in-law and his parents won't know how to explain it." 0

My two nieces, dressed in tattered clothes, looked at me timidly. The elder daughter was about the same age I had been back then. 0

I asked my sister, "When I was four, you took me into the mountains to collect cicada skins. When we got separated and I didn't go back, why didn't you come looking for me?" 0

Her mouth opened slightly in surprise. "Did that really happen? I don't remember!" 0

You see? They inflict upon you an unforgettable pain and lifelong fear, yet they casually say, "I don't remember." 0

"But I do," I whispered. "If I had stayed with the Ma Family, I might have died in the mountains at four, perished from a high fever at seven, or drowned in a downpour at ten... But I certainly would not be standing here as a university student." 0

"Sister, don't deceive yourself. Deep down, do you really not know whether they love us daughters or not?" 0

Perhaps my sister, as the eldest daughter, had indeed received some love. 0

But as the third daughter, I really have never been loved. 0

When my eldest sister left, her expression was not good. Although my elder brother said he could help pay for my tuition, I still took out a loan. He then bought me a smartphone as a reward. The school is in the provincial capital, just a two-hour bus ride away. However, my uncle insisted on driving me there. 0

My second brother rolled his eyes and said, "When I went to report for school, none of you sent me off; I went by myself." 0

My uncle slapped him on the back and replied, "You're a boy; what’s there to send off?" 0

"Your sister is a girl; it's not the same as you." 0

Actually, there's a term that suits my uncle well: daughter slave. He lacks patience with my two brothers but always speaks to me in a gentle tone. 0

Two days before departure, my aunt brought back some hair dye. "Shi Shi, help me dye my hair; look at how much gray hair I have compared to black." The dye had a pungent smell. 0
