I pretended to be extremely grateful as I took the card and stepped out, heading straight for the insurance company. I purchased a substantial education fund for my daughter. This money would ensure her future life and studies were secure. 0

Next, I had an old friend from my hometown send a few videos of the house construction to Wang Hui. Only then did he seem relieved. 0

With the house halfway built, I approached Wang Hui again, claiming I needed to spend money to leverage some connections. I asked for another two hundred thousand. 0

Wang Hui looked at me with suspicion. "Your parents can't possibly be contributing nothing, right? They should be able to come up with two hundred thousand." 0

"That money is their retirement fund..." 0

"This is also my retirement fund. In any case, if there's no money, there's no life." 0

Wang Hui turned away in annoyance. He was convinced that since the house was already halfway built, my parents would step in to help. He was sure they would empty their savings to cover the costs. So, he only gave me half of what I asked for, trying to pressure my parents into contributing. If I didn’t actively ask for more money, he would still have his doubts. 0

Seeing me worried about money seemed to reassure Wang Hui instead. That night, I called Qin Qin, pretending to ask for a loan. After she refused, I feigned helplessness: "Qin Qin, I feel like Wang Hui isn't genuinely committed to our life together. He has so much money but refuses to contribute even a little towards the house." 0

Qin Qin was surprised: "He got laid off; how much money could he possibly have?" 0

"Probably over ten million; I once saw his bankbook." 0

I sobbed as I spoke. 0
"Over ten million? Are you saying Wang Hui has over ten million?" 0
Qin Qin screamed, her voice startlingly loud. 0
"Keep your voice down, don't let Wang Hui hear you." 0
"I saw it by accident; the money is under his mother's name." 0
Qin Qin quickly calmed down, giving me a few dismissive words before hanging up. 0
I sat on the windowsill, gazing at the moon outside, fully aware that the real drama was about to unfold. 0
Sure enough, a few days later, Qin Qin appeared at my doorstep. 0
Her face was filled with sorrow, like a little abandoned wife. 0
What surprised me even more was that she was holding a newborn baby in her arms. 0
I hadn't seen Qin Qin for some time. The last time we met was when she and Wang Hui were caught in a compromising situation. 0
Counting back, it had been seven or eight months. 0
Qin Qin looked pale and weak as she forced a smile at me: 0
"Chen Man, I've been abandoned. Can you take me in for a while?" 0
I felt a lump in my throat and couldn't find my voice for a long time. 0
If Qin Qin were to stay at my place, Wang Hui would be the first to oppose it. 0
"Don't be ridiculous; we don't have space for her." 0
Qin Qin's eyes were filled with sorrow, and I noticed Wang Hui's lips twitching involuntarily. 0
This pair of star-crossed lovers seemed to have a thousand words unspoken in their gazes. 0
I made an excuse about needing to buy groceries to leave them some space. 0
In reality, hidden cameras had already been installed in the room, and they were unaware of it. 0
"This child is yours." 0
Qin Qin's words struck like thunder, and Wang Hui's face turned pale instantly. 0

Before you got into trouble, you were already pregnant. I had a falling out with the old man, and now I can only rely on you. 0

Wang Hui looked anxious. "What if Chen Man finds out...?" 0

"She's just an idiot; how could she possibly know?" I replied. "Having her here is just perfect; she can help us take care of the baby." 0

Wang Hui's expression changed several times, and Qin Qin quickly added while holding the child, "It's a boy." 0

Upon hearing this, Wang Hui reluctantly agreed to let Qin Qin stay. When Mother-in-law found out, she initially opposed it vehemently. But after Wang Hui whispered something to her, Mother-in-law suddenly changed her attitude. She took Qin Qin's hand and affectionately called her "my dear daughter." 0

And there I was, the fool, obediently showing them the baby. Every time I went out to buy groceries, those two would be making a mess in the living room. When I took the baby for a walk, they continued their antics in the kitchen. Even when I stepped out to throw away the trash, I could still hear them making noise inside. 0

Wang Hui might not be able to perform well in that regard, but he certainly had his tricks up his sleeve and used all sorts of tools. It left me feeling anxious. 0

I knew deep down that this situation needed to come to an end. That night, while Qin Qin was asleep, I quietly entered Wang Hui's room. Ever since he became paralyzed, we had been sleeping in separate rooms. 0

Wang Hui groggily saw me standing by his bed and almost cried out. I quickly covered his mouth and whispered, "Don't shout; we can't let Qin Qin hear us." 0
