The seasons in the human realm and the demon realm are different. While the human world is still buzzing with the sounds of cicadas in the height of summer, the demon realm is currently blanketed in a flurry of snowflakes, deep in winter.
When Lan Ruo woke up, he heard the howling north wind almost breaking through the tightly shut door.
Seeing him open his eyes, the Rabbit Servant by his bedside joyfully exclaimed, "The Prince Consort is awake! He's awake!" and quickly dashed out.

Her eyes sparkled with delight.
"I didn't expect that the little Snow Rabbit Kingdom could actually save lives," Lan Ruo remarked, feeling grateful for his second chance at life.
"Hmph." Bai Xiao Tu's nose twitched with pride.
However, this pride didn't last long. Lan Ruo soon saw her blushing as she sat at the edge of the bed, staring at the floor and saying, "Monk, you have a wife now!"
Upon closer inspection, Bai Xiao Tu's face was so red it seemed like it might catch fire. Lan Ruo chuckled, "Oh? Who is she?"
Bai Xiao Tu continued to gaze at the ground, counting on her fingers as she said, "She is beautiful as a flower, wise and talented. She can pull up radishes and plant vegetables, jump through fire hoops and carry men on her back."
But just as she finished speaking, Lan Ruo let out a soft sigh: "That's wonderful! But I can't marry anyone."
Bai Xiao Tu exploded with anger: "You accepted my betrothal gift and now you want to back out?! Besides being bald, how are you even like a monk? Only now do you realize you're supposed to be a celibate! It's too late!"
"Betrothal gift?" The monk seemed confused.
Bai Xiao Tu suddenly lowered her voice and said mysteriously, "Let me tell you something; don't tell anyone else."
Lan Ruo's hand trembled. Where did this nosy person come from?
Bai Xiao Tu poked at his chest, continuing, "You have a ruby here. The elders said that your injuries are too severe; only a ruby can save you." Rubies are incredibly precious, and the Wolf Kingdom relentlessly pursued the Snow Rabbit Kingdom for them, never compromising. But for Lan Ruo, his life was more important than any gem.
Bai Xiao Tu wouldn’t tell Lan Ruo that to persuade the elders and make them cast spells, she even threatened her own life.

Lan Ruo remained silent, a smile tugging at his lips as he gazed intently at Bai Xiao Tu's delicate cheeks. She felt that his dark eyes sparkled, making his already handsome face even more vibrant. It was the first time Bai Xiao Tu had seen him so genuinely happy.
She didn’t know what made him so joyful; all she knew was that she was happy too, and so she smiled back.
After a long while, Bai Xiao Tu finally heard Lan Ruo say, "Silly rabbit."
His tone was affectionate.
That day, Bai Xiao Tu still didn’t receive Lan Ruo’s agreement to marry her. After all, asking a monk who had just regained his life to marry a rabbit demon was quite a psychological hurdle.
Bai Xiao Tu was an impatient rabbit, but like other rabbits, she showed great patience when it came to matters of love.
Moreover, compared to her romantic feelings, the urgent crisis facing the Snow Rabbit Kingdom needed immediate attention.
The strength of the Wolf Kingdom was unquestionable in the demon realm, yet the weak Snow Rabbit Kingdom hadn’t been swiftly conquered not only due to the Rabbit Corps' fierce resistance but also because of their geographical advantage that made it easy to defend but hard to attack.
Although it was a war between two kingdoms, the pattern was essentially this: the wolf people shouted insults from below the city while the Rabbit Corps munched on carrots above and discussed the weather.
Not fighting and holding their ground was also a tactic. More importantly, they didn’t want to court death!
However, a high monk who had traveled from afar and had an ambiguous relationship with the princess—a master with a shiny bald head—said this was wrong. When facing formidable enemies, they needed to have unwavering confidence in defeating them, be brave enough to challenge them, and dare to face them as rabbits who would never give up. They should adopt a proactive attitude to show the entire demon realm that they were not just farmers who could grow carrots but also the greatest warriors.
This sermon stirred up heroic sentiments in the hearts of the simple rabbits; they were filled with passion and excitement. Throughout the preaching process, all the rabbit demons held their faces in awe and delight.

After a moment of gazing into Lan Ruo's eyes, Bai Xiao Tu nodded vigorously.
